gpirlo68 0
Midfielder Mohamed Diame has become Newcastle United's latest arrival, after signing from Hull City for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old Senegal international has agreed a three-year deal at the Club and becomes the eighth player to join the Magpies' first team squad this summer. Diame began his career with French side Lens, before moving to Spain, where he turned out for Linares and Rayo Vallecano. He joined Wigan Athletic in August 2009 and has spent the last seven years in England, turning out for the Latics, West Ham United and Hull City. Last season he scored the only goal in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, as the Tigers booked their place back in the Premier League. At international level, Diame has won 28 caps since making his senior debut in March 2011, and featured for his country at the 2012 Olympics. "It is a great feeling to be a Newcastle player," he said. "Everybody close to me knows how desperate I am to play in the Premier League again, but when Newcastle comes in for you it makes you think. "I am looking to the future. Newcastle is a big name, a massive club and will be back in the Premier League, for sure." Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez added: "Mohamed is a strong, attack-minded player with a lot of fight and determination to his game. "He is also someone who will provide the team with goals and assists from midfield. "He has good experience of the Championship and the fight needed to win promotion, which will be important for us." Anorthernsoul 1221
Surprised we were the only one's in for him for that money? You have to laugh at Hull though, what a state that club is in. Can see them being the whipping boys next season.
Rayvin 5223
Villa went for him at the end. As if he'd choose them. Welcome to the guy - not particularly followed his game but sounds like a strong buy.

Kid Dynamite 7029
Good but for the price but we are still missing a proper playmaker in the middle. Everything is nailed on this 4231 working
strawb 4251
Think people are getting overly worried about a lack of a "playmaker". Who was Burnley's or Boro's last season? You win this league by being consistent rather than exceptional. Total faith in Rafa to get us playing to a 7/10 most weeks which should be enough
Ausman 0
Probably our best signing this transfer window.

Total faith in Rafa to get us playing to a 7/10 most weeks which should be enough Scott airfield from the wing for burnley, a less good Ritchie tbh. They were just functional in the middle, Jones and Barton most of the time. We've got plenty to win this league I think, even without any more in. Rayvin 5223
Was just reading a Hull forum for their take on this and it sounds like they're having a fucking shit summer. Lots of talk of only having half a team left, owners incompetence holding them back, no manager, etc. Straight back down for them, by the sounds. scoobos 298
Being a cnut again, but biggest transfer doesn't mean much unless its on a time scale. We bought ginola for 2.5mil, but 2.5mil back then is 13.5mil now. Like these signings tho, we're getting depth in the squad at last. Their Supporters Trust: "A lot of people have been talking about protests in recent weeks, particularly since the departure of Steve Bruce. It's clear that the desire to protest against the way that the club is being run by the Allams is stronger than ever before." '"So let's cut to the chase; it's happening again. We will be organising and coordinating protests over the coming weeks, starting with our season-opening home game against Leicester."

Dr Gloom 21924
He could do with focusssing on it more after some of his recent performances. I'm still hoping colback breaks a leg forcing Rafa to play him deeper alongside shelvey.
