Rayvin 5217
Funny, but somewhat optimistic about the state of the human condition. I always felt that without religion, we'd be killing each other for other things anyway. And I think we've proven this over time (oil). That said, on the ground level, religion is the thing that motivates people to commit wrongdoings. Well, that and nationalism/racism. And money. And politics. I just think we're collectively fucking useless no matter which way you spin it.
Rayvin 5217
He is, however, 100% right about scientific progress and endeavour being thwarted by religion and the moralistic codes we have established as a result of it. America in particular struggles in this respect.
PaddockLad 17246
He's largely wrong and Rayvin is largely right The Nazis didn't need a religion to try to exterminate Jews, gypsies, the disabled, homosexuals etc etc... Just because Isis are using some twisted form of religion as their motivation, their end goals amount to the same thing, a lust for power over others. Religion is a massive red herring that's just used to divide the wider population in general.

PaddockLad 17246
Nazis had a religion alright. Hitler was a devil worshipper...but there again so was Stalin I suppose they were ethnically German Catholics before Hugo Boss issued them with a nice new rig out, but they weren't doing it in the name of the Pope tbh.. This is a solid primer mate. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Sun-Esoteric-Politics-Identity/dp/0814731554 The esoteric wing of the SS and the aristocratic Nazis ran the full gamut of Eastern religions (Hummer's trip to the Himalaya), Teutonic Knights (Templar order) astrology and the Black Sun. It's a massive and fascinating topic. But at its roots Fascism was informed and driven by the occult (a new world/old words religion). As you say they were also helped and financed by the Catholic Church (inner orders of which are completely esoteric) along with Swiss and American banks some of which had Templar origins (deffo Swiss)... Schrodinger Bank (HItlers Bank) and various other Swiss Banks were initially created with the hidden Templar riches stolen from the middle east....It's no coincidence the Templar defeat at Aachen coinciding with the creation of Switzer a few months later. Just look at the flag ffs! This devil worship is a catchall but actually masks the religion of our rulers which came down from Sumer to Egypt and then into Europe. A lad I worked with had a book that explains all that (I borrowed it but never gave it back, still got it) I'd forgotten some of the things that you mention here, it is properly interesting but am not sure how much of it I buy now am older and whether it matters what the motivation is if you're just a a gang of psychopathically deranged killers. They're all doing it for the same reasons regardless of motivation.

They're all doing it for the same reasons regardless of motivation. They are different to us in some way. Psychopaths for sure but cold generally...The bloodlines man....(They breed very selectively). You can look at the Lily of the Nile and its transposition/mirror in the Fleur de Lys/ Edelweiss (only grows in certain parts of the Alps)....And the blue flower Batman had to collect on his way up to the mountain for his training. They won't shut up about their religion but they don't make it clear either.

NJS 4378
Political idealogies like Maoism and Stalinism are very similar to religions - they are power/control mechanisms used to bend the masses to the wills of the leaders. Religion is different to me because it actively encourages its followers to believe in superstisious nonsense to the detriment of knowledge and healthy curiosity. Rayvin 5217
I'd argue that the effect Mao had on Chinese people was approaching into the realms of superstitious ideology mind... the 'cult of Mao' was a prominent thing.
wolfy 12
I always used find it strange how we allow all other nationalities and religions into this country and yet we have to bow down to their belief's and ways. Yet, when we go to their countries, we are under their laws in a strict sense and our laws and belief's are basically rendered irrelevant.

Well you can't neck on with a lass in public in Dubai, or be gay, or have any evidence of porn on your computer unless you fancy a stretch inside a Dubai prison, which I'm sure are charming. in Saudi there is strict segregation of sexes in public places like swimming pools, it's illegal for women to drive. Anyone found under the influence of alcohol can face strict punishment etc etc.

They may not go to prayer but are strictly dealt with if they flout their rules. As for beer in Qatar. Only in their establishments are you allowed to drink it and for exorbitant prices. Spit on their streets or take a piss against a wall and you're in serious trouble, unless you can afford to pay a few hundred quid off the hip to get out of it.
