McClen, Brady, Hamilton, Pancrate, Georgiadis and Ireland don't count as they barely played a game for us (same as Terry Wilson who would have undoubtedly come into consideration with Fumaca if I was considering just anyone who played a game or two). Even Bassedas is pushing it. Faye definitely deserves consideration as he was fucking terrible. Geremi, I wouldn't personally rate him as poorly. Maybe that's because I've seen that he was a good player before he ended up here and if I were to objectively judge him on his time here, he'd probably have to be considered. I'm no doubt being harsh on him but I think it's the fact that Hayden played 171 games for us (which will be more than all of these other players combined I would think), and that people somehow thought he was a consistent 7 out of 10 that makes me hate him so much. His best days weren't a 7 out 10, he was a consistent 5. Matty Pattison made 10 league appearances for us - ugh. I'll throw Hendrick in there too as he was fucking awful and a classic Ashley signing. Siem de Jong, Henri Saivet the mystery man, Kenedy (second spell), Thauvin and Cabella...the list goes on. Geremi I actually consider better than several of those, at least at the start of his time with us.

acrossthepond 917
Sometime when you really want to boggle your mind, look at the astonishing list of ABSOLUTE FUCKING DIRGE that we signed under Ashley, and the fees we paid for them, and think about how much whinging he did about not being able to wipe our own noses or whatever the fuck it was. The extent of the no-namers that briefly wore our colours really has to be seen to be believed. We spaffed a hundred million pounds on pure dogshit trying to find bargains from France and Belgium because we once lucked into signing Cheick Tiote for 4m and wanted to replicate that twenty more times.

He was a continental style sweeper in France but Gullit played him instead of Rob Lee. He also looked like a bin man. Almost as much as Neville Southall apropos of absolutely nothing whenever anyone says "Dumbass" my mind immediately goes to Ol' Franky boy. Alex 36036
There was a game Geremi played at wingback under Allardyce where he was hung out to dry as it was clear he didn’t have the legs to play there anymore. But he looked good in KK’s first half season in his 2nd spell here as manager. When KK settled on a 4-3-3 and played Butt and Barton in there too

It was like playing with 10 men having Pattison in the side. He was fucking miles out of his depth

Another wasted millions signing when you added them up. Mike Ashley man, what a wasted decade and a half. Bruce seemed to be keen on him and most Arsenal fans I've heard don't seem to be too happy with letting him go. I'm also impressed that as a club we knew anything about him. Players like Gayle and Ritchie are more obvious having played in the premier league and Rafa's Spanish connection is obviously how the Jesus deal has come about but this deal seems to have required a lot more thought. Not something we're usually good at. We really do seem to have a new Newcastle United this summer and it's really refreshing to see. sorry, I couldn’t resist
