He’s done exactly what was expected of him - a first time promotion then survival. Not really the project he was hoping for. He’ll go to a club that matches his ambitions. I would too if I were him. Leicester I reckon his next stop, they've got some backing and Puel will be gone this summer.

Mebbe so, but the breaking of the record to get Almiron might pour some oil on the troubled waters.
ewerk 31226
The problem is that the marquee signing is Rondon.
Dr Gloom 22185
and it's only a chance. we guarantee we might try, will that persuade you to sign again?
Kitman 2207
He’ll be off. And who can blame him? Throwing him a bone won’t make a difference when he’s been cynically starved of cash for the squad, training ground and academy throughout his tenure. Howay 12496
Why don’t they just give the bloke a fucking budget, however many or few players that gets him is up to him, and he gets a percentage of money from player sales to re-invest and bolster his set budget. I honestly think that is all Rafa would want, he’s not a bloke who needs a fortune but he needs to be given a clear and honest budget that he controls. Instead this bunch of morons will offer a chance of signing one ‘marquee’ signing and expect that’s enough, they’ll then act like they’ve been fucked over when he turns the offer down. wykikitoon 20799
Haven't they said they will let him allow him to sign players every window? Using this tactic is now a little old. He's off and who can blame him?
trooper 940
Pini Zahavi has been taken on by Newcastle United to find them a new manager for next season, according to reports from France. L’Equipe say Mike Ashley has engaged the ‘Super Agent’ to identify a replacement for Rafa Benitez. The newspaper reporting that this was decided some months ago, suggesting the Newcastle United has had no real interest in convincing the much decorated manager to stay. Looks like Ashley can't wait for Rafa to go

Dr Gloom 22185
Gutted if true. I was still cautiously optimistic he might stay. No surprise at all if he’s had enough particularly if Ashley does indeed have zero interest in the takeover.
trooper 940
I was reading yesterday how true it is I've no idea. Starting next season Ashley will go back to the old sign no one over the age of 25 routine.
Howay 12496
Aye, anyone that ever expects any different from fat boy is always going to be disappointed sadly. He’s proven time and time again that he simply never learns from his mistakes, if he give Benitez a moderate budget, let him spend it as he wants, and doesn’t interfere, Rafa would keep the club in the PL. Instead he’s going to gamble it all again on whatever bellend manager dickhead Zahavi or whoever chooses and it’ll inevitably end in relegation so Ashley can lump another £30m on his “loan” to NUFC (which is never going down despite how many years in the PL we have nor how much profit we make in transfers). Rinse and repeat until the wanksplat either keels over or sells up. Edited March 15, 2019 by Howay

Ayatollah Hermione 14069
This Zahavi seems to have strong links with Kenyon as well. Thus, probably indirectly proving the Kenyon takeover story was a load of bollocks between two mates
trooper 940
NUFC to Ashley is just another one of his businesses. He has no personal links to the club apart from owning it. I doubt very much he cares whether they win or lose every week as long as they can stay in the PL with little or no outlay. The club is probably running as efficiently as it can now & that probably suits Ashley. He just sits back watching the TV money come in as we struggle to survive another season. As soon as Rafa started questioning Ashleys financial methods he was on borrowed time. As much as it hurts its probably time for Rafa to move on as he's getting nowhere fast here. Around mid table is probably as good as it'll ever be with Ashley in charge

Alex 35615
He’ll throw money at the next manager. Whether it’s enough and the recruitment is good enough ( like with Pardew) or if it’s a disaster like McClaren was is anybody’s guess. You’d think another relegation is in the post though. Where Ashley’s been lucky in the past though is where we’ve bounced straight back up. Absolutely no guarantees that’ll happen next time. Then we’ll see how keen he is to hang around I guess. What a fantastic thing to have to look forward to as fans.
Anorthernsoul 1221
There can't be any truth is these ridiculous rumours, surely! t00nraider2 41
Take them with a pinch of salt. Agents of managers and players tell journalists these things to get pay rises or journalists just make it up to sell papers or click bait.
