Their match threads are awesome though... 1. Before kick off - They're great and can see an easy three points 2. After kick off - Playing positive 3. Other team score - Hate at Short / Moyes / some named player 4. Other team score again - Even more hate. Relegation nailed on. 5. They score - named player the only one who wants / deserves his shirt 6. Game ends - Hate at Short / Moyes / multiple named players 7. 30 more pagers about how amazing their home / away fans are much better than everyone else Then you have their loaded topics such as "Which three teams do you want to be relegated?" or "Who's you most hated team?" which is followed by 3-4 pages of 'FTM' comments or if a mag replies "another one on the ignore list" as if they're collecting for some special merit badge! I only read it so I know that no matter how shitty my day is, I'm not one of them. Edited August 10, 2017 by MiddleAgeCool

There's a few decent posters on there. There's a lad who really has a handle on their finances and his stuff is always interesting (GrumpyOldMan or something like that). I need to stop replying to some of the posters who are just acting the cunt, but when their cuntery becomes the perceived wisdom (Rafa being chiefly responsible for our relegation etc.) I struggle to let it go by without correction. Yeah, the thing is, the ones who engage with you are all cunts. The intelligent ones (and there are some) are normally circulating in their politics forums or on issues like finances as you say. The ones you argue with, if you met them irl, you'd be trying to get away from as soon as possible for fear that whatever is wrong with them is contagious. The best ones are the ones that keep posting about all things NUFC on multiple 50, 100+ page threads but they are not obsessed because its on a Sunderland forum despite the fact they post in depth about Rafas history with the clubs hes been at, the transfers hes made ect ect ect ect. Theres just a handful of absolute losers on there that drag that site down even further. Edited August 10, 2017 by

As I said, I need to work clarity within brevity. It's tough though, some of those fuckers can take "currently not a massive club", as some kind of prediction that Newcastle are set to assault the top table. trooper 940
Alan Shearer speaking to Talksport: “I think there’s definitely a frustration there from Rafa Benitez, having spoken to him. “They have been in for a lot of players and they have missed out on a lot of players. “They have tried but for different reasons they haven’t got some of the players in that they’ve wanted. “They have been too late, other clubs have gone ahead and beaten them to it. “Rafa will have them hard to beat, he will have them organised and well drilled…but Rafa wants to be bigger and better than that. “He went to the Championship knowing that his job was to get the club back into the Premier League, then thinking he could go one step further and build and get bigger & better. “That is what he wants and if he is not able to do that, he won’t be there for much longer. “He will have to have signs of bringing more players in and I think it’s a big two or three weeks regarding bringing a few more in. “He needs that, there is no doubt about it. “He says he needs a new striker, he might need two, he needs a full-back, he also wants an experienced goalkeeper. “He says they’re working hard to bring those players in and hopefully they can. “I think we will know a lot in a month’s time and if he doesn’t get what he wants, than you might see it starting to unravel." I think the Ashleyout.com group should be on standby. First Martin Hardy's article regarding Rafa being unhappy now Big Al saying a similar thing. There's got to be something in it Edited August 10, 2017 by trooper

Dr Gloom 21915
Honestly, Trooper, what do you expect the Ashley Out lot to achieve? If Rafa walks, he walks. Ashley is going nowhere unless we get a crazy offer, which doesn't appear to be incoming any time soon.

Honestley mate i expect it to be very well supported this time as i'd imagine Rafa walking would be the final straw for the majority of fans this time. I'd imagine even for the most ardent fans this would be the final kick in the bollocks. What would be the point of going to the match except to show your disgust in Ashley. Noelie 103
I imagine Rafa will stay, but perhaps not much longer. He is frustrated with the transfer dealings and has not got who he wanted. He has not been able to bring in a marquee player and I think we were all expecting someone of that caliber to be brought in. We might well struggle with the new additions to the squad and the returning players, and that being so I can imagine that the January window might determine Rafa's tenure with us if he's subjected to more frustration at not getting who he wants to strengthen the team. I hope I am wrong, I hope the new signings prove to be gems, I hope the returning players change to a higher gear, and I hope we hold our own in the Premier League and it doesn't become a shamble. Rayvin 5217
I think Ashley has worn people down over time Troops. If Rafa goes I expect there'll be little to no discernable reaction. Maybe a few matchside protests, but it'll die down and we'll all just start hoping for the best again.
David Kelly 1244
I don't actually think there's anything too bad in what Shearer is saying there. We're working in a difficult window with less resources than most of the other clubs so it's not going to be straightforward doing what we want to do. I think a lot of Rafa's frustrations will come from that. We won't be helped by having penfold doing the negotiations or Ashley holding the purse strings but I think the biggest problem is we just don't have the resources we would like. So while there's no doubt he's frustrated and disapointed, it's not something that's catastrophic. They should be able to do enough to get it sorted in the time remaining. The good news I took from what he said was that Rafa wants another fullback in. Given that we've signed Manquillo already you have to assume that's for leftback. trooper 940
If/when Rafa goes everyone with a love for NUFC shouldn't set foot in SJP. What would be the point of going as the next manager would be in a similar vein to Kinnear/McClaren/Pardew another Ashley puppet. I'm afraid that is the calibre of manager we'd get as the job would be akin to a poison chalice.
trooper 940
I dont understand Ashley he let that clown McClaren spend £83 million to build a team. Now we've got Rafa who is a different class altogether & yet he's had barely any money to spend. He got us out the championship & his reward is a flimsy budget. I really do think Rafa is surplus to requirements now regarding Ashley i.e. he's done his job (promotion) now he can sod off.

Rafa could have easily failed to get us promotion back to the premier league. If Rafa was so short changed then he could have walked before the season started. He's bought players that he could get. the best of the rest of his potentials. He's spending what the club generates and no doubt will have money to spend should the right players show their faces and are within the right budget. I'm sure we all want more expensive signings and a bit of show boating quality. Who doesn't? The point is we are not in a position to buy off the peg quality like that for that type of money. We are on a rebuild under a top manager, who, if stays, could build a successful team and the cash to go with that. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen but the top and bottom of any of it is very simple. Whatever happens the club will always have fans, whether they're unconditional hard noses or fair weather one's like yourself.
