Dr Gloom 21963
shit, looking at table, we could really do with the three points
trooper 940
It was eventually going to come to this were we're going to have to string some results together our fates still in our own hands for now but we must start winning games
David Kelly 1245
Saturday is the real must win for me. Could really do with something tonight but I don't think it's make or break.
Alex 35109
Given we've only scored 6 (YES, FUCKING SIX!) away goals all season (Sunderland have scored 15, Villa 10) then a draw would be agreat result.
Dr Gloom 21963
you have to salute the away support. six goals to cheer all season man

trooper 940
We need at least a point tonight all 3 really because Saturdays games could really open up the bottom 3 Norwich v Villa you've got to fancy Norwich to get 3 points. Then there's Swansea v Palace again you've got to fancy Swansea for all the points
McFaul 35
A club like us going 5 and a half years without a win at a shit ground and club like them shows we are actually cursed. 5 and a half year without a win at Woodison. Cursed. The record is so bad I'd take a draw tonight in that hell hole.
Dr Gloom 21963
It's not that hard to fathom when you look at how they've done compared to us in that time. Edited February 3, 2016 by Dr Gloom
The Fish 10872
Last time we beat them; They were 19th, we were 5th.

BigAl 0
Tough away game against a side who are unpredictable, going for a 2-1 Everton.
Anorthernsoul 1221
We won't play with 2 up front That's what I would go with but you're probably right, conservative McClaren will pack the midfield. ewerk 30656
Mbabu is still injured and I doubt whether Doumbia is going to be fit enough to start. He'll probably be more use coming on against tired legs. Edited February 3, 2016 by ewerk
The Fish 10872
Won't it be the same as before but maybe with Townsend coming in for Perez? Elliott Janmaat Mbemba Colo Dummett Saivet Sissoko Shelvey Perez/Townsend Wijnaldum Mitrovic Doumbia and Perez/Townsend to come off the bench at some point? Dr Gloom 21963
townsend should definitely start

Ayatollah Hermione 13889
Looking at Everton, they're a side that would be higher with a savvier manager IMO. A bit like us, I suppose but having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if, despite playing more games than us recently, they look like the fitter side. If Shelvey has a good game and Wijnaldum can actually perform away from home, we should be getting something.
Dr Gloom 21963
We won't play with 2 up front or no defensive midfielder.
Anorthernsoul 1221
The three main threats in their team are Lukaku, Barkley and Coleman down the wing. We tend to struggle with Lukaku's physicality. It has shown this season that we really need to get the first goal in the game, if we concede first we generally never get 3 points. We need to get at them from the start, like the West Ham game.

I agree, but I wouldn't be surprised if we try to hold them at arm's length as we did against Spurs and Liverpool, then try to hit them on the counter. To be fair, we have the pace in Sissoko, Townsend, Wijnaldum (and purportedly Doumbia) to trouble any sides on the counter, which should mean our side is capable of taking points off sides who play more expansive football at home.
