The Amalfi coast itself is pretty much a day trip from Sorrento. Doing it by boat would be a better idea imo as you get to see the coast from sea rather than being driven along it but it wasn’t an option for us. There’s plenty to see in that part of Italy so it’s definitely worth doing at some stage.

Gemmill 50042
Bus from Belfast, I reckon. Spaghetti hoops in a flask for the journey to get into the Italian vibe.

The Fish 11323
The holiday was good, I'd like to say "Corfu is nice" but if I'm honest we didn't see much of it apart from the airport, taxi-interior, and hotel. Major ups were great weather, good food, welcoming staff and all that. Downs were the littlest one getting Hand, Foot and Mouth and incapable of sleeping unless she's on one of me or the Mrs. Still, nowt perks you up after 5 broken hours of sleep quite like a punchy Bloody Mary with your toes in the Ionian sea. 5.8/6.7 would recommend.
Ayatollah Hermione 14692
Off to Berlin for a week or so in May now that Newcastle Airport has flights. Any recommendations bar the obvious sights? Bonus points for any good pubs off the beaten track
Kid Dynamite 7645
Just got back from 2 days in Amsterdam with the family. Somehow managed to avoid it until 42, but what a lush city. Barely any cars in the city centre, little to no rubbish, beautiful architecture, everyone is bilingual, lovely food etc. f Had a great time. Only let down slightly by some absolute clampetts on the ferry.

Train in to the top of the city and then a wander, food, boat tour of the canals. Tbe architecture is great, very different to any UK cities. Great day and we all got royally baked on some quality green outside the local knocking shop before getting the train back. 1
Meenzer 16449
Netherlands is massively underrated as a destination imo. Some of the other cities are great too, lush beaches, easy (casual) cycling. And bitterballen. 🥰

It’s a short hop over as opposed to 14 hours with charvas who’ve had too much weed / drink / coke etc Edited March 5 by Alex

It’s a short hop over as opposed to 14 hours with charvas who’ve weed / drink / coke etc The daughters went over on the ferry without bothering to tell me before they booked, I think they had the sum total of two hours in Holland before coming back, they spent a small fortune on data and overpriced everything. I'd even told them in the past when they were mulling over going to Amsterdam to just pay a bit extra on the flight and it would save them in the long run but what do I know?
