He's threatening Mexico with 100% tariffs if they don't stop immigrants as well

It won't happen, Mexico is the 2nd biggest importer of US goods (after Canada), I'm sure Mexico wouldn't respond in any way at all..

Also no-one would get their pools cleaned or gardens trimmed.

His trading policies won't happen as you say because it would be self harming. He's full of shit, metaphorically and literally. His foreign policies will fuck us over though, definitely.

Absolutely, his foreign policy will be "do nothing" and Putin et al will fill their boots.

I think she'll win it ... just.

Going with 276 v 262.

And then all hell will break loose because there's absolutely no way he'll concede.

Agree with that forecast, but also think it is conceivable Harris may get a much bigger win because these reproductive rights issues are killinghis vote in women. Somebody made the point tha Trump might not kick off as much as last time, because he is due to be sentenced in NY shortly. If he was involved in another insureection, the judge might well send him down. His main goal has to be to stay out of prison.

He's a fucking pyschopath, he'll claim election rigging and demand the result is dragged through the courts. I agree that he'll stop short of insurrection, but he'll make a nuisance of himself, no doubt.

It's going to be a long 2-3 days while this shitshow is sorted out. The close nature of the polls might scare Dem voters into action at least. Trump voters probably didn't need the push so much.

That assumes that people won't take to the streets in his name regardless tbf. He might be a bit more understated this time around but it doesn't change the fact he's been banging the 'stolen election' drum repeatedly.

I think it's going to kick off even worse this time around if he loses.

Part of Trump's strategy will be to declare victory early whilst the Mid Western states are still voting. The idea is that some democrats won't bother voting because they think they have already lost. Also to further ferment ideas of the election being "stolen".

Nevertheless, my prediction is a Harris win and things not to significanly kick off (sure there will be isolated things happening). We'll see.

It might even be closer than the numbers I've suggested, but I still think she'll take it.

Of the swing states I think he'll take Arizona, Georgia, & North Carolina. I think Harris will win Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania (just!)

The one I can't make my mind up about is Nevada. If Trump takes it, and the rest finish as above, she'll win it 270 v 268 ... which will be closer than Bush v Gore.

Have you seen the steel cages they're erecting in Washington DC?!

Jon Ralston says Harris wins Nevada, and that's good enough for me. He's a good follow on twitter btw. Nevada journalist who digs deep into the early voting and reports regularly throughout the counting.

If Trump doesn't take Nevada, I can't see him winning. Everyone is talking about Pennsylvania being the key and in terms of college votes it does stand out, but I think they seriously fucked up allowing Tony Hinchcliffe to open his trap and then the GOP trying to argue "he doesn't speak for us"

You put him on the stage you absolute fucking lunatics! Either you didn't check his content, or you had no issue with it!

Agreed, the likes of Trump don’t care about being caught, they only care if there’s any consequences :cuppa:

Not only did they put him on stage but they allowed him to continue his set - if they were really caught off guard he'd have been ushered off the stage, his mic cut etc.

They knew what he'd say but were not expecting the reaction - which considering the sizeable Puerto Rican community in the US should be a clear indicator of the sheer incompetence Trump has surrounded himself with.

Musk on his own is reasonably harmless as he’s a charisma free zone. It’s if he can find the next Trump and use him as a puppet that worries me.
