Official business This and this. The left(er) side of politics seems hell bent on playing it fair and I just don't understand why, when the facists are happy to bend and break the rules constantly. Have Trump and his mates swooped up and dropped off at a black site where no one can find them. Then have the crooked right wing supreme court judges contained and stripped of their position for crimes against their constitution, otherwise they are just going to rewrite everything to how they want it and then it's too late. It's very much like the club's current attitude to the corrupt PL rules, same with Labour (GB) and Labor (AUS) they all want to carry on as if the deck isn't being stacked against them - but the right and the uber capitalists don't give a fair fuck. Whoever wins this election dies on the job, even if Trump changes the rules to make himself a dictator. They'll have one of the god awful Trump jr's taking over and doing speeches off their tits on coke.

Gemmill 46027
This should be a full scale emergency now for Democrats. Get a new candidate and get at Trump.
RobinRobin 11561
Delayed the hush money sentencing on the basis of the Supreme Court decision. Not sure how paying hush money to a porn star fits into official business of a President.

ewerk 31200
Quote President Joe Biden has blamed his poor debate performance last week on jet lag, telling reporters that he "wasn't very smart" for "travelling around the world a couple of times" before the debate. "I didn’t listen to my staff... and then I nearly fell asleep on stage,” he said. Mr Biden, 81, last returned from travel on 15 June, nearly two weeks ahead of the 27 June debate. The New York Times, external, citing an unnamed source familiar with Mr Biden's schedule, reported on Tuesday that his days began at 11:00 each morning and that he was given time each day to nap. Maybe it's just me but I don't think it's wise to have a president who doesn't start work until nearly lunchtime and then needs a nap during the day like a toddler. Renton 21998
I think Biden will be gone shortly, there will soon be a critical momentum against him. July might be a very good month for politics, especially if those Frenchies somehow get their act together.

I lost track of the French story, but I gather the Left and Macron's lot have got together and stood down a bunch of candidates. I mean Le Pen is gonna claim that the establishment has ganged up on her etc but it at least stops them forming the majority.

Listened to a bit on R4 this morning and they were talking about saying its a Nixon moment and think he will be gone. Likewise they said its looking better for the French. The thing is about these right wing arseholes, when they achieve power in any capacity in normal functional democracies they tend to be found out. That's why I'm not really that worried about Farage or Le Pen. Trump is different though because he will destroy the democracy himself. I just hope the Democrats rescue this situation.
