The yanks I know would disagree re the "minimise conflict" bit. They saw hard-line MAGA for what it was and wanted "justice", (same way we felt about the "concerned citizens" scum in the farage riots) as time passed people got pissed off/bored with "no accountability if you're rich" thing and it got minimised over time, early doors there was outrage in the main. Swift justice via the rule of law was wanted but it never happened.

Whatever though, they are royally fucked, needs a massive adjustment here, and in Europe, now but I don't see any hope because the institutions can't/won't grasp that there's no rules anymore so we'll be fucked too.

Can't really disagree. Still think where we've arrived was unimaginable then though. I mean, it takes millions of Americans to get us here and here we are. We're going to go through more shit in the coming years than we ever thought possible, just hope we see the other side.

Got to laugh when Trump tells us to learn from history. I am all too well aware of what ethnic cleansing does you orange shit gibbon.

None of this is even remotely viable, who the hell is going to want to risk their life holidaying in Gaza by the sea? Is this just dementia?

Problem is, I really don't see what rest of the world (the west) can do, if the US opposition can't/won't do anything, nothing unites like outside interference.

Nowt we can do. The US is a monopolistic economic and military superpower. You have to hope for resistance from within but that doesn't seem to be there. Maybe it will appear if the US goes down the pan economically.

Are the rest of the middle east going to want the Americans at their door step? The Saudis will be reluctant to take any action but sure Iran will kick off. I can't see Turkey being overly pleased either.

China won't want to see it either but could then use it to justify their own expansionist policies and the Europeans will most likely just make strong tutting noises.

Iran is completely impotent after last year. Their military is shite and their proxies have capitulated.

A lot of Israelis and American Jews would be more than happy to buy holiday homes there.

Braver than me then. Who's going to pay for the permanent army required to keep them safe?

They only need one nuke.

And a means of delivery. The iron dome pretty much took out hundreds of simultaneous missiles they fired at it. And they won't get even one nuke miniaturised enough to get onto a warhead. The US can easily prevent that now.

He's flooding the zone with so much shit its almost impossible to keep up. Almost gone unnoticed yesterday that the World's richest man, who is entirely unelected, cut off aid to literally the poorest people in the World. They and their children will suffer unheard. The US has become an abomination.

Isn’t it just going to be more settlers? He’s a “property developer” by trade. This is what he’s president for. To build hooses… talk of some sort of pipeline across Gaza too…. this has all been talked about regularly since the October 7th attack. That’s why Gaza has been levelled…

by cutting foreign aid he is basically handing soft power to china, which is now the key global power in this area.

Interesting thing about America's soft power in one of the podcasts I was listening to. Basically the US has spent decades developing it, growing roots in nearly all western countries and some far Est ones too (Japan, South Korea). You can only pull this shit and shaft your neighbours once though. Nobody can trust the US now. Military bases will be removed from foreign soil. Canadians will continue to boycott Bourbon. Etc.

This is all Biden's doing, useless cunt should have strapped a rocket to the arse of the DOJ for Jan 6th as soon as he was inaugurated.

If Biden had done what he promised, i.e. only stayed for one term, there could have been a proper succession process in place, which would probably not have invovled Harris as she wasn't giving a good impression as VP.  The candidate could then have distanced him- or herself from the current administration.

No, they're talking about moving the Palestinians out, he's making noises at Jordan and Egypt. Ethnic cleansing if you will.

Weakness and incompetence contrasted with malevolence. I know which deserves most condemnation.

Yes. The Gaza Strip will be settled by the likes of those settling the West Bank now….as you say the Palestinians won’t be there…

It's the mad belief in the system, see the great PPE robbery here during covid, US today is that multiplied by thousands/millions.

Not sure about this. MBS might not be that arsed, but the muslim brotherhood thing might cause civil unrest in ME societies. Always a strange one Palestinians for me, on the one hand they are Sunni but on the other Hamas were proxies of Iran (Shi'ites).  Can't see it going down well regardless.

and Russia.

China's response will be interesting as they have to take some care to protect their trade with US (15% of all their exports) but I think Taiwan is fucked.
