This was by far the least egregious case against him, was the only one that got to court, and allowed him to play victim and claim conspiracy, thus deflecting the much more serious charges. He said, because of the size of the EU, any trade deals with the US would be focussed on them first. Which makes complete sense to all parties. The howls of rage from the gammons could be heard echoing around England. Now one of his cabinet has openly called for the democratically elected leader of the UK to be disposed an imprisoned, not so much. Obama was a breath of fresh air. People shouldn't underestimate the impact he had with the Affordable Care Act, which will probably be reversed now. It's hard to operate within the confines of the US political system, particularly for anything vaguely "socialist".
