This looks like fucking religious shit which is the cause of the current problem, as usual.

I clipped the sky fairy reference off it

Agreed it was the economy and bad communication, but regarding the latter, I don't know how a modern progressive political party can adapt to the new communication landscape dominated by bad actors.

I mean let's not rewrite history here. Until this morning, it felt like Harris had run a good campaign. What should she have done differently?

maybe KD is right and the Democrats need to fight fire with fire next time, find their own strongman leader

Think Benjamin Button is a fantasy mate.

So is a sensible Presidential election.

Well descending to their level is one of my concerns.

If the Republicans have the presidency, both houses, and the supreme court, and given Trump's comments on democracy are you 100% even sure there will be a next time? Strikes me that the US could be following the path of Russia where democracy is at best an illusion and the country is ran by "broligarchs".

Could genuinely see Farage as a not too distant future PM. What a fucked up world we live in. Not surprised but quite fearful of what the future might hold. Especially for my kids

That’s it. I’m just sorry for my kids. I grew up in a brilliant time not having to worry about politics home and abroad. Nowadays it’s just madness and reaching unthinkable low points.

I guess the Kremlin is already preparing its victory parades.

America is so diverse in its intellect and thinking. It’s 50 countries within a country.

Sadly a lot of them are thick as mince but then you could label the UK like that now. Social media is the worst thing to happen to society.

Once all the older, sort of 65+ lot, got on Facebook and Twitter and started lapping up all the conspiracy shit and Russian propaganda. It’s had a big hand in stuff like what’s just happened, what happened 8 years ago, Brexit, Johnson winning his ‘landslide’, the rise of fascism and Reform. It’s not all of them by any means or just them. But loads of that generation are completely down the rabbit hole. And they’re never coming back.

And they're the ones who tend to really turn out and vote.

Can’t wait for the next time the in-laws come round (tomorrow) and he does his usual thing of spending hours glued to a fine selection of channels playing rolling news.

I spoke to my mam the other day and her first question was what do you think about the budget. I made the point that I was just pleased it wasn't another managed decline budget, and that whether it worked or not, at least they're trying to do something.

To my absolute fucking amazement, she agreed. Then she revealed that she's come off watching rolling news (GB and TalkTV) because it's leaving her permanently enraged. Funny that, almost like it's their business model.

Anyway, she'll be back on it before long, but it's amazing what even a couple of weeks of not being told what to think about things by the telly can do for you.

Jokes aside, social media has been a net negative on the world. And your generation is largely to blame.

Luckily I'm not quite 64 so blameless 🙂

Social Media is absolutely evil but your latter point is bollocks, of my contemporaries (socially and formerly workwise) I am the only one who is "online active" must be some other old people you are thinking about.

It's not one generation, it's malignant, manufactured and bespoke messaging across them all.

How about a purge of anyone who uses their child as IT support?
