Not in my case. I do what I can to keep healthy how I can but that’s more for general upkeep. I’m not sitting there going “This food will limit my chance of cancer. This vitamin will help stop chances of a stroke. This walk will help my heart” You do it because it improves the general quality of your life and body, not because you’re desperately trying to build a flood wall against specific disease. If your body is going to succumb to something, it will. Luckily for you, I imagine you get regular check ups and things would be caught early doors anyway

Could they have won with a different candidate?  I thought Kamala was impressive but again it appears the yanks aren’t ready for a woman president. Would a strong male candidate have made a difference? I doubt it. The truth is most US voters don’t really care if Ukraine falls or what an emboldened Russia means for Europe. They care about food prices.

I think her being part of Biden's administration likely didn't help with the electorate. As soon as it was clear Biden was stepping aside it needed someone completed disconnected from what they had. 

I don't think it comes down to her gender, I think a lot of it comes down to the fact Biden has been pretty much an uninspiring President who has little to show for his tenure.

Its a simile not a literal comparison mate. As in blaming Harris, and not Trump, for what is about to happen. To suggest I have in some way insulted the victims of rape is utterly ridiculous.

I think gender is a big issue for Americans, it does appear to be mysogynistic country. CLinton, now Harris. They appear to want "strong" leaders which the majority associate with being male. I don't think we will see another female candidate in our life times unfortunately (I am assuming for now there will be another election which I am not sure of).

Biden’s inflation reduction act was a transformative piece of legislation, creating billions of investment into clean energy industries of the future and reshoring thousands of high-skilled manufacturing jobs - that’s his legacy.
 

The problem was a failure to communicate with voters. A perfect example is Georgia, one of the states which benefited most from IRA jobs and investment turning blue. This is legislation even climate-change denying Trump won’t overturn. States won’t want to say goodbye to those subsidies and the inward investment created by the IRA. 

 

It’s the economy, stupid. The price of everything has gone up and that usually means the incumbent falls. Inflation did for the Dems

Number 4 is a key point. A big chunk of the electorate don't want a sensible leader. They want someone outlandish who says stupid stuff that makes for good quotes on social media. That's why Boris was popular. And that's why Farage is growing in popularity. 
 

Labour need to get on board and start promoting some of the younger members of the party with a bit of personality. I've got no doubt that Starmer will steady the ship, but whoever shouts loudest at the next election is more likely to win

It is of course a sexist country but you have to wonder what so many American women were thinking, given what’s at stake. I thought the abortion issue could have swung it Kamala’s way.

Agreed it was the economy and bad communication, but regarding the latter, I don't know how a modern progressive political party can adapt to the new communication landscape dominated by bad actors. 

I mean let's not rewrite history here. Until this morning, it felt like Harris had run a good campaign. What should she have done differently?

Me too, I convinced myself of it. Not just abortion, there are states now where they are finding it hard to recruit obs and gynae consultants meaning woman's helathcare and child birth is compromised.
