It’s based on the Iranian revolution tbf however it’s still very much a case of “imagine if the evangelical lunatics got control over the country”

Also the sheer audacity of a Christian to say such shit as if they themselves don’t also believe that women should be subservient to their husband, stay at home, shit out a load of kids and eventually die in childbirth like the forefathers dreamed it.

It's not like. It may have been an inspiration but it's about a dystopian Christian theocracy which is terrifyingly close to being a reality in the US.

I mean you cropped out the bit of the sentence where I actually said that in fewer, less articulate words

Sounded like you were part justifying the viewpoint of the twitterer or Xer or whatever, who was mansplaining the point of the book, incorrectly, to its author!

Anyway all Abrahamic religions are the same fundamentally (and yes, I know you said that too).

Good luck rest of the world if he gets in.  There's going to be tarriffs on just about everyone, apart from the Eastern European hard men.

Tarriff's don't particularly matter, they're just passed on and the US consumer pays them. But the free hand he'd give to Putin Xi etc. would be disasterous.

20% tariffs would matter, they would massively decrease demand and fuck the world economy. He won't do that of course. But he will buddy up with the other autocrats and introduce elements of project 2025, turning the US into an authoritarian theocratic hell hole.

Also I don't see him lasting a term. The orange shitter gibbon must have been off his tits on coke, speed and God knows what else to get through the last few days. So a lot depends on his predecessors and people like Musk, which is also terrifying.

So all countries that mainly favour Trump are ex USSR - and presumably all putin simps to boot?

He definitely seems like he's on his way out - he'll be in a hospice in 18 months. The problem is that Vance is a proper project 2025 nonce and will be the one mainly making decisions even if Trump does survive a term.

Thankfully, I think Harris gets in and hopefully that will be enough to lead the republicans to "drain their swamp" and bring back actual politics to their party and we can all breath a massive sigh of relief

Nope, wouldn't be good, but would be the worst for US consumers than anyone. Of course the markets will get upset, but that's their job as there's money to be made (cunts).

Tariff is paid by the importer, not the producer, so if you run a business that utilises imported components you can't reduce your demand without impacting your business. Sure you can try and source alternative components but the reason you import them in the first place is because they were either cheaper or unavailable elsewhere (internally).

Even if you find alternatives, does the producer have the capacity to satisfy your demand on top of their existing customers ?? If not, they ain't going to expand production (even if they can) just to supply you. Even if they did, the price of the component is going to reflect that expansion.

Either way US consumer will pick up the tab.

Largest exporters to the US are China and Mexico, I doubt even a US sourced replacement item would be cheaper than a sweatshop Chinese/Mexican item even with a 20% tariff uplift.

It's a barking mad idea, but it'd be the worst for the domestic US than anywhere.

Fingers crossed. It's like we got rid of the tory cunts only to have a worse round 2 with these republican cunts. Signs are looking good though.

Or at least are broadly drawn to "hard man" leaders, which they somehow consider Trump to be.

Even with Putin. He’s a short arsed ex-bureaucrat. Their ‘hard man’ persona is essentially just being sociopathic cunts obsessed with wealth by any means. I think their main appeal is amongst people who would like to act like them but don’t have the bottle or power

He's threatening Mexico with 100% tariffs if they don't stop immigrants as well
