Talk about blasting one into your own net. I watched a demolition of Rogan's most recent comedy special last week. A Netflix live event in which he absolutely bombed and about two thirds of the way through, completely abandoned his set cos it was going so badly and resorted to rehashing jokes from his act 15 years ago, and stealing jokes from former UFC fighter turned temporary stand-up Brendan Schaub. He's always been a shit stand-up, but this was something else. I think once upon a time he was a bang average stand-up - before his podcast and back when he wasn't playing to the alt-right. He was never worthy of the success he had, but had a load of much more talented comedians to call on as mates to help him. Considering the sharp uptake in his fame was due to him calling out another comedian that was stealing material while someone filmed it - it's hilarious that he's now stealing material from one of his own friends.
Gemmill 44894
This is what I watched. It's half an hour but if you hate Joe Rogan, it's a good watch.
Gemmill 44894
I don't think it's on that video but I saw another clip of his podcast where he's talking about one of his mental conspiracy theories about the way a building blew up. Anyway he goes "I'm obviously not a bomb expert.." and his guest, quick as a flash goes, "you should see your act". He's properly wounded by it. Can't laugh convincingly, can't think of anything to say in response, just sits there getting laughed at and eventually starts doing this fake laugh and "OMG so brutal" type patter. The prick.

Renton 21627
Who is this Joe Rogan person? Sorry if that sounds incredibly ignorant but I've only a vague notion he is a podcaster who has interviewed a fuck ton of famous people. I saw him interview Prof Brian Cox on my YouTube feed and what was okay, albeit Rogan said fuck all. Is it just recently he's migrated to the alt right? Also his name reminds me of Rogan Josh. Hmmmmm, Rogan Josh.
Gemmill 44894
He was a pretty shit stand-up who appeared on a sitcom in the US. He's big into his MMA so he got a job as co-comms on the UFC and is a bit of a figurehead for that organisation. Then he started a podcast, basically him out of his mind stoned chatting to fellow comics. Rambling 3 hour episodes where they talk about how aliens built the pyramids and various conspiracy theories. Harmless, stupid shit. This gets really popular and because of his UFC connections and predilection for conspiracy, the Venn diagram between his listeners and young MAGA has pretty sizeable crossover. Then Spotify come along and offer him a scandalous amount of money to move his podcast to Spotify. Like 100m or something ridiculous. He moves to Austin, Texas, opens his own comedy club, and a bunch of other comics (the not very good ones, I assume) migrate there, and it seems to become this personal Rogan echo chamber. They release a special, and they go on his podcast, and it guarantees lots of people will watch. In turn they don't say anything bad about Rogan. He becomes increasingly wacky during covid, antivax, etc. Then most recently he endorses RFK Jr. Now he just had Trump on.

Before covid, Rogan's podcast was still mad stoner shit mostly, but it was harmless. He's another one whose brain went in the big covid liquidiser. Basically Andrew Shulz, Shane Gillis, Mark Normand and Andrew Santino are the only ones I can think of who have had any form of success that have been regulars on his podcast and I'd argue in the case of Santino and Gillis it's in spite of their friendship with Rogan. Theo Von too but he's just mental, and when you extrapolate out from his highlight reel on tik tok he's canny shite - I blame Rogan for him. Shulz is one who probably would have made it on his own - he's effectively the American version of that ginger scouse cunt that's everywhere because he does mediocre crowd work. I think they all feel they owe Rogan a debt because he gave them a platform - and outside of his absolute mental opinions I think he's probably a half decent bloke, and a loyal friend but because he smokes too much tac and talks about the moon landings being faked he appeals to the thick and mentally unstable which is also who Trump appeals to. Gemmill 44894
Actually decent comedians would go on there at one time if they had somethibg coming out though. Burr has been on, and Jeselnik. Burr used to do my head in going on about how clued up Rogan was and how he researched stuff. Did he fuck. He would say something completely mental, and go "that could totally be true". That was his research.

"The stars are just specks of paint that our alien overlords placed there to fool us into thinking there was more." - Average Rogan guest. "That's crazy. Hey Jamie, pull up that one video of the gorilla lifting a tyre over his head and shitting on the spot." - Joe Rogan.

Renton 21627
This has been fed to me by the Google algorithm. Suggests early voting is favouring Harris. Could be bullshit though, I have no feeling for US politics at this level.
Gemmill 44894
Said it the other day, I still think she wins. I think they're gonna go wild in the aisles on ads this last week too. She's raised $1.5 BILLION. They're absolutely rolling in cash.

They mentioned the manipulation going on, that X is being engineered to suggest that there’s no point in Dems turning out to vote as Trumps lead is so great, various fuckin horrifying scenarios should Trump win and one where he appoints the likes of Jamie Dimon to run the country and he fucks off to play golf for 4 years. This is just about the only one I listen to on politics, can’t stick the smug conceited twats on the news agents and point blank refuse to listen to Campbell, his sidekick isn’t a bad cunt for a Tory though. Scarramucci is a very interesting character for me, and the contrast with the posh as fuck Katty works really well. She’s a bit older than me but probably still would
Rayvin 5223
It feels like the Democrats are sleepwalking towards a loss to me, and it's genuinely worrying. Early voting favouring Harris apparently not a surprise as it's always thus for the Democrats, but I keep seeing things suggesting she's projected to lose in most swing states. Win the popular vote but lose in electoral college.

Read that, fanny magnet. I think she's gonna win. Was listening to the latest episode of that Scaramucci thing earlier. The poll that came out yesterday that has her at 51 v 47, and ahead in the swing states came out at the same time in the cycle for the last election and was something like 0.9% out. It has her ahead with ALL key demographics, with the exception of young men aged 18 to 34 or something. And it has her with a bigger lead than Biden had. The Trump lot have flooded the market with garbage polls to make people panic and to set the scene for another stop the steal scenario.

Fair but he seems to be on our side so i suppose he would say all this? It just feels like there's blood in the water to me, genuine fear gripping people on this now. Maybe that's good for turnout at least.
