I do accept the criticism that Biden didn't go for Trump on day one for insurrection. This court case is easily the most trivial of all the charges he should faced years ago. Election rigging and insurrection top of the list.

He is being federally investigated for the insurrection. What was Biden supposed to do? You can't arbitrarily jail your political rivals.

if he wins in November it will be the last election till Trump snuffs it. That’s what she’s criticising Biden for, he’s ignored the obvious and huge danger the US is in.

And how's he supposed to get past the 22nd amendment?

fo sure. He’ll weaponise it, call it a witch hunt and his thick-as-mince base will lap it up

His base don't need convincing to vote for him. It's the undecideds, and I'd guess a good part of the reason they're undecided is cos they're waiting to see the outcome of Trump's trials.

I doubt they were waiting in the hope he'd be convicted so that they could vote for him. I think this definitely hurts him. There are still enough Americans that don't want a convicted felon running the country, I reckon.

Because the GOP will try to get legislation through to overcome it. If it fails politicians deemed responsible will start to get murdered. He wants to be Putin or Kim il Jong. Jan 6 was a dress rehearsal.

Nah, that's sensationalist nonsense IMO. It takes more than legislation, it would require an amendment to the constitution ratified by 75% of the states. Given that he couldn't even rig an election while in office would suggest that he has zero chance of making that happen.

I can get on board with that. The point is he will definitely try. And if/when he fails his supporters will literally turn their guns on those they hold responsible. I think at that point the US will be on a precipice….

I think you’re rather overestimating the American electorate

On the even brighter side, if he’s also convicted in any of the federal trials he faces he’ll get an enhanced sentence because of his criminal record. 😂

Also as this is a state conviction, it’s not pardonable.

I don’t see this being successfully appealed either (he’ll try) but can’t see a higher court overturning 34 counts unanimously delivered by a jury.

That said the Supreme Court is bent as fuck but not sure how they can change a state decision, their remit is federal law.

P.S. There was a MAGA on the jury who got his news from solely Truth Social and Twitter (jurors had to fill in a questionnaire as part of selection) EVEN HE couldn’t find Trump not guilty.
