TheGingerQuiff 2412
They thought they were geniuses nailing down players to 12 year contracts. Without a single person anywhere down the line playing devil's advocate and suggesting we could be stuck with them when it goes pear shaped and no cunt wants them. The Thauvin carry on is reminiscent of something the king would pull

ImpossiblyDaft 1
What do you think it would take for them to change the strategy? I don't mean stopping them being cheapskates but to get them to be more sensible about it - taking inspiration from Southampton or Leicester rather than Sports tucking Direct. Howmanheyman 33270
Grimer worm tongue, (Charnley), will do fuck all outside his masters perceived wishes. So no chance of the policy changing unless fatty starts flapping in January and tells him to do whatever it takes to stop up.
Kid Dynamite 7034
I see there's talk of us buying British. Good in principle but Andros Townsend has disaster written all over him, and players like Ryan Shawcross and Ashley Williams will be £20mil+  Wonder if Charlie Adam would come here? Ayatollah Hermione 13887
They don't seem to realise the benefit that signing some older players with PL experience will bring because the entire philosophy is "buy low, sell high" Can you sit here and tell me that a player like Robert Huth wouldn't be an improvement on Coloccini's shambolic performances? Or that someone like Aaron Lennon wouldn't offer us a bit of width and pace out wide that we're desperate for? The recruitment policy is flawed in that the end goal of any player we sign lies in their potential monetary value, not their value to a good balanced side. Over the last 2 seasons, Carr has signed about 5 players who all play in the same position. And managers like Alan Pardew and Steve McClaren are supposed to figure out where to play them?! Kid Dynamite 7034
Huth possibly but Lennon is just another Obertan/Gouffran/Marveaux for me

Haydnator 45
Should try and sign these in January but the mongs in charge won't budge and will go for more young foreigners. The only foreign player I would accept in Jan right now is that Jetro Willems from PSV.
StoneColdStephenIreland 74
We haven't exactly got the pulling power anymore that we used to have. Why would a first team regular want to come to us when we'll more than likely be below them in the table and they can wait it out for a bigger, more ambitious club? essembeeofsunderland 811
We would have to hope that new Premier League quality players coming in would get us a few points before they get totally pissed off having to play with shite players who don't give a fuck.Seriously, why would Williams come to us.Lennon would quickly chuck the towel in.I would go for Nolan. He'd cost nowt.In fact what about him as player manager. StoneColdStephenIreland 74
As a way in to Premier League football to move onto a bigger club. Â Players in the Premiership already have that window of opportunity, so why waste it with us.

Haydnator 45
That's funny because that is our transfer policy there, which has only worked for, who, Cabaye? Maybe Ba? Â No idea, but if we can't get any Premier League players then we're doomed.

No idea, but if we can't get any Premier League players then we're doomed. Exactly, but that's the reason we're in this mess. Our transfer activity has been so bad that it's driving down our value to Premiership players to want to join us. The Shelveys, the Shawcrosses, the good, experienced Prem players won't waste a move to us as we aren't the club we were anymore.  The only players we can attract are foreign players looking to move on from us and inexperienced English players that we'll have to be patient with but with the predicament were in we can't have any patience with them.
