Howay 12496
Guests, notice unlike RTG we don't have a weekly thread on how your matches against other clubs are going  because you don't matter and we're not obsessed like you are I say let the cunts have this one, it was clear to me after watching that match it's not happening again. Once McClaren has properly got the system he is setting up in place and has another window to strengthen some more weaknesses we'll be even further ahead of them and I doubt we'll see another ridiculous moment that completely alters the game. I know what you lads reading this thread will be thinking 'Ahh well Sam will have his system better entrenched by then too' aye that's right but believe me when I tell you the football you are playing at the moment is the best you will play under Sam. Enjoy you bunch of spanners.

The Fish 10681
Has a thread about this forum been made on RTG yet? Quick search says yes, they've a thread about our match thread  There's a circle joke about Stevie's eloquent appraisal of what makes a mackem.  No surprise that there's little acknowledgement of the rest of the thread, probably because it flies in the face of their construct of a "delewded jawdie". PaddockLad 17053
At least 6 gibbering troglodytes all in deckchair shirts here in departures at Newcastle airport, more than I've seen at any point in the last decade...
Alex 34766
Well, I thought we played well. Probably a foul by Colo to the letter of the law but it isn't consistently applied like that and it wasn't done so in the game so it was extremely harsh to give a pen. Doubly so to send him off as I don't think it was a clear goal scoring opportunity. We should've had a pen just before that too as Wijnaldum was clearly impeded. Sometimes you just have no luck in a game and that was one of those. As much as the pen / sending off the inability to convert all that first half possession into clear-cut chances cost us the game. Sunderland were more clinical 2nd half but they were given a massive boost by the end of the first half. Before that they struggled to put 3 passes together. We need to persevere with that side, or that front 6 for now. Play like that and we'll win plenty games. They know they were lucky, just one of those games. Gutted but at least we showed up, unlike the previous few howkings off them.

TBF we've had one of these wins where the other team has possession but we scored our very few chances but they didn't.. Swansea away in the season we finished 5th I think. Finished 0-2 to us didn't it? Â EDIT: Aye, was the case. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17558919 Edited October 26, 2015 by Haydnator

Game should have been buried before Colo's madness.
StoneColdStephenIreland 74
Aye, every week will be like that for them and they've got no quality anywhere on the pitch. It's gonna be a long season for them and they'll soon get sick of those tactics week to week.
Howay 12496
They best hope they don't sit as deep as they did against us first half as not many teams will be as ineffectual at converting that control into chances as we were, however that is Fat Sam's tactics and I don't think the current crop of players they have suit his style very well tbh as they lack height up front and although Brown and O'Shea do have height they're both pretty weak in the air. Â I just hope we can begin to create more chances from long spells of possession as up to now it is something we seem to struggle with, the Norwich game showed our players can play on the counter very well but the mackem game has shown we're weak when we control the play. Â Think Siem De Jong is the answer in games where we need a bit of vision and creativity to break teams down. No idea where he plays though since dropping any of the front 4 would be harsh atm. Aye I think you could be right, I'd like to see him played alongside one of Tiote, Colback or Anita as I worry we're struggling at times to get the ball through to the right areas up top unless Wijnaldum comes deep to collect it. I've not seen enough of the bloke in all honesty due to his injury record but I don't imagine he would struggle that much in a slightly deeper role than he is used too (surely he must be able to contribute more than Colback/Anita there), of course the other option would be to drop Wijnaldum back there but the fact is the bloke looks a level above and his movement in and around the box is way to valuable to play him deeper. Haydnator 45
If we did play De Jong in the midfield, who would he alongside? Â Colback - A Championship footballer imo but always gives 110% and does his best to try and win the ball back and keep it. Anita - A good footballer who looks like he's finally come good in both the final few games of last season and the first few of this season, but he's too small to dominate a midfield in the Premier League. Tiote - Will either be superb or a massive liability. He's got the physicality to fit into a PL midfield and will always get stuck in but he will pick up stupid yellow cards which nullifies his job as a defensive mid. Really don't think de Jong is a central midfielder. Think of him less like Scholes and more like Nolan.

But if we were to play him in this new 4-4-2 system then he would have to go in the middle of the park or we would have to drop either Perez or Mitrovic - something which no one wants to happen.
