Happy Face 29
I just couldn't believe someone recommended Blyth and wanted to show as much without causing insult and actually being the one to say it's a hole
The Fish 10857
I just couldn't believe someone recommended Blyth and wanted to show as much without causing insult and actually being the one to say it's a hole Blyth is a hole. Seaton Sluice is an area of natural beauty though. (Jokes aside I wouldn't recommend the Sluice, nice place to retire if you've got a bit of capital to enjoy the houses on Collywell Bay road, but the rest is... well the beach is a nice place to take the kids for a Saturday afternoon.) Happy Face 29
Best chippy in the North east in Seaton Sluice. We drive up there rather than go to the ones much closer in North Shields. Average there is £175,045, so better class of place than most on the list, but there's no transport links, local supermarkets, good pubs or restaurants other than the chippy. Poor bastard's got no chance, he's already been carted off to the woods near Birmingham to go LARP*ing with his mam and dad. *This is LARP, (not my sister though)

Gills is decent, but I was surprised to see people think it's owt special. Melton Constable has improved, but aye, it's not great. Astley Arms used to be class, but it's a Brewer's Fayre (or similar) carvery now.
Happy Face 29
Gills? I mean the Harbour View Raoul Moat went there for his last meal, the divvy.

Happy Face 29
Aye, best fish for miles there. Chips are nowt special, but you get a whale, no skin or bone & lush crispy batter and always dead consistent. We had one portion of fish and chips between 3 of us on Saturday, admittedly, one of us was is only 2, but we still threw left overs out for the birds at St Mary's car park where we ate them. jonasjuice 0
Any chippy recommendations in London? I know it's a cliché but I've been here 3 years now and nowt but overpriced disappointment. Would pay through the nose for a decent one when the craving hits. There must be some.

Meenzer 15530
Crap or overpriced/with ideas above their station/too much like an actual restaurant or both, aye. Check out the blurb for our local(ish) place, for example - the fish is actually pretty decent, but all the talk of sustainability and seabass and namedropping "Hugh", howay like. RedfernMag 0
Faulkners on Kingsland Road used to be top notch when I lived around there, although the last time I went it had changed hands and wasn't as good. That was over 10 years ago so no idea what it's like now, probably been turned into a hipster cereal bar. Still even when it was bad it was better than the chippy in Delaval Mr Moat had his final supper in, that plaice was awful.

It's well placed for a half hour rest when I walk along to the coast, but I've never fancied eating there. Edited October 12, 2015 by Jill

The Fish Club is a bit pricy but it's good eatin' To be honest, you're probably just as well going to one of the million "Gastropubs" and having their Fish and Chips.
