Back where we belong...........................on the bottom.

Bright spot............Mitrovic scored.

Dull spots..................Six of them

Gouffran in the starting line-up was an omen..................bad things would happen.

McClaren...............................No comment.

In all seriousness though, I seriously think we're going down if we don't beat Norwich at home after the break. I don't care how it's done, even if it's a 1-0 in the worst match in Premier League history, we need those points. The 3 points v Norwich are probably going to be the biggest 3 points this season. If we get them, I think we can kick on from there as on paper, all of our coming fixtures are very winnable (Norwich h, mackems a, Stoke h, Bournemouth a, Leicester h, Palace a). And I believe the derby is going to be the 10th games where McClaren asked us to judge him. If we lose to Norwich and lose/draw with the mackems, he's gone imo. Ashley will do anything to keep us getting that PL TV money.

We just have to win our next two games against mediocre opposition and I think we can despite the collapse in the second half. There's one or two players who desperately need moving on but we've a few decent ones too. Keep cool, folks. I think we've more or less found our best team and formation these last two games, injuries and suspensions permitting. We wont play these fuckers every game. Villa, West Brom, Mackems and Norwich are shit. Bournemouth could also have a slide. Keep the chins up, Mbabu looks a better bet than what we had there, Mitro looks like could be a handful with Ayoze benefiting from playing off him. Keep the faith, children, keep the faith.

I reckon Norwich are getting knacked at the cathedral on the 18th and then it'll be a gradual ambling lurch up the table to 12th come May.

It's gonna be absolutely great.

 Gemmill still high from all the positives of that first 40 mins, good lad Gem.

When was the last time we played football properly for 90 minutes? For as long as I can remember we have always had a decent 45 in one half and then spent the other 45 clinging on for life. I know teams normally get a 'spell' where they are in control for a bit but we seem to have a good 45 mins of every game getting bombarded.

Am telling you man, the last two games we've seen the green shoots of mediocre, mid-table security. Old Greenthumbs McClaren will be getting his watering can out this week.

For 40 minutes we were very good we could have had 2 or 3 but when they equalised the heads again went down. It must have been a cracking team talk at half time by McClaren because they came out & Aguero took us apart then City declared after their 6th. Dog knows were we go from here yes we weren't expected to win today but then again we didn't expect to get beat like this especially after going 1 goal up. Next up Norwich then the Makems & Judgement Day (10th game) these really are desperate times for us & it could be all over for us by Xmas if this continues.

What am I missing?

DeJong was on the bench meaning he's fit enough to play.

Tiote was on the bench meaning he's fit enough to play.

WHY did McClaren start Gouffran instead of one of those two?

Good questions Noele. I asked the same regarding tiote before kick off. Must be something going on there.

De Jong, I think, might just be a bit shit, or a total crock who needs half a season to regain match fitness.
