essembeeofsunderland 811
It's easier to hit the ground running if you run when you hit the ground.Thauvin hasn't because he hasn't.We don't really know what he can produce in the Premier League because so far he hasn't fancied showing us.I wonder whether his current `couldn't give a fuck' attitude was part of his game when he was in France. We cannot afford to give him a run of games due to our shit league position .For Brolly to get a real good look at him he can only bring him on as sub when we have a game won which hasn't happened yet and may not be just around the corner. The Fish 10681
I'd start him in the next run of games. If he's going to do it, he needs to start doing it soon and unfortunately 20minutes in a game that we're chasing/trying to kill off isn't the theatre to show off his skills. essembeeofsunderland 811
I suppose we could start him against Norwich to see if he is interested and if not hook him after 20 mins. Our situation doesn't allow us to give him 90 mins and then decide ( again ) he couldn't give a fuck.We could organise a number of behind closed doors friendlies but i'd be surprised if he took those opportunities to show his worth. David Kelly 1219
I admittedly didn't see the Watford or Sheff Wed games in which he was apparently awful, but he looked useful when he came on against Manure and worked his bollocks off against Arsenal after Mitrovic was sent off. I can't believe how quickly so many people are completely writing him off. We've had English players come here and start poorly and go on to do very well (Rob Lee was poor for his first few months) so I think we can give Thauvin a bit more time yet. BLACKANDWHITEGEORDIE 0
His couldn't give a s**t attitude was exactly the same in France which was probably the reason he was voted 'worst player in the French League' last season. Which makes you wonder why Graham Carr kept pursuing him especially at the price we paid for him. It would now seem that guys who were well behind the scenes years ago are now deciding when the Manager gets fired. Liverpool are the latest example. Park Life 71
His career stats are awful and that's taking into acc the puffy french league. Might get better as he gets older but that's no help to us now. Edited October 7, 2015 by Park Life
ewerk 30217
He had more assists last year than any of the other tarts we have in the squad. Only two of our lot scored more than him too.

Compared to our squad I'm Maradona. Â iirc his stats are 1/6 goals and 2/8 assists. The Wham bloke is double that. And that's from the French league where they have cocktails at half time. Â Seems to have no burst of pace either or athleticism. Â 12m worth of junk. Junk!!! Edited October 7, 2015 by Park Life

Haydnator 45
Unlike you I'm guessing he watched him play a few times Yet we've dropped him after 2/3 poor games. Has McClaren/Carr learned something about Thauvin now that we didn't know in the seasons we've been scouting him for before he signed?

We should drop Mr Champions League and play Thauvin. And I agree, slagging off a 22 year old just coming from the south of France to a new country and league is unjustified imo. And people saying Cabella would be better? People say about Thavin 'he only played well against mighty Northampton' Well then, what did Cabella do against the mighty Gillingham last season then? If what I heard about Thauvin is true then at least it suggests he gives some sort of shit about his performances for us which is a lot more than can be said about Sissoko. But he deserves more time before he's written off.
Happy Face 29
Are people moaning about Carr just because everyone wants to moan about everything. Â Even if Thauvin is complete shite and never puts in a performance, haven't Mbemba, Wijnaldum and Mitrovic looked as good as anyone in the team or better? Â Three out of four ain't bad. David Kelly 1219
Was this the crying after the Watford game story? Where'd you hear it?Yeah that's it. Someone I know (who I have absolutely no reason to doubt) told me he knows someone who's either a physio or fitness guy at the club and he had told him. I can easily believe a player coming from France could react like this as I'm sure Robert Pires said similar things about when he first joined Arsenal. Mind you I would have thought he would have that reaction to the Arsenal game the amount of running about he had to do against them.
