“I got on the phone to Colin. He said, ‘Come back here if you want, we’re playing Scunthorpe in a couple of weeks. Who have you got? Liverpool. Don’t be an arsehole, son.’

What a class side that was, despite the utter shite that has been served up during Ashley's entire reign we can at least look back and think of the great Keegan and Robson sides we got to watch. I feel sorry for the younger lads like Haydonator that have had basically nowt but the Ashley years to grow up watching, utterly shameful tbh the stuff we have seen on the pitch for the last three seasons barely counts as football.

:jesuswept:

Well Danny `The Wanker' Murphy said today that it's not down to lack of effort just a lack of confidence. When did a lack of confidence stop anyone from running and tackling. He's a grade 1 baldy wanker.

He would be if his name is Danny 'The Wanker' Murphy. That's nominative determinism right there.

God that's both wonderful and painful, just remembering what it used to be. FFS.

In truth, there's no team in the country that can hold a candle to what that team used to represent. I don't think that kind of city wide will passion exists anymore, anywhere.

Strong article and spot on.

In many ways that this has happened so early might be a boon in disguise as there is mountains of time to set things straight. Part of that will have to be a strong Jan window where we absolutely must sign some brawn, muscle and determination. Players who are athletic with a bit of pace and aggression or we're just going to be gone by Xmas. We've wasted about 25m on fukin total flowers in Thauvin and that other skinny one.

Get Cisse and Sissoko out of this club.

CT loves this sort of thing. Go back to when he first started posting on here after KK left. He took immense pleasure in winding fans up when they were at a low ebb. Ditto now. It's an easy way for him to get attention he so obviously craves.

Watch the mock indignation now.

You've covered all bases there, you enjoy [emoji6]

From Mini Mike

"There is no hiding from the fact that this has been a very disappointing start to our Premier League campaign, and a painful early exit from a cup competition that we were determined to give everything in this year. We apologise to you for this.

"After six league games the truth is we have not achieved the points that any of us had hoped and expected we would do.
"None of us can, or will, shirk the responsibility for this situation. Now is the time for collective action, and for us to find solutions to the problems rather than allow ourselves to be consumed by them.
"It is important to state that we bear collective responsibility for our position in the table. Identifying the problems in order to find the solutions is crucial, but we are not in the business of apportioning blame. We are a team, from the boardroom to the boot room, and we will respond like one.
"So we have sat down as a collective - myself with Steve and his coaching team, and Steve with his players - to discuss the concerns and to look for the solutions together.
"Whilst we are all unhappy, we must not panic or make rash decisions. We should not forget we are still relatively early into the season with lots of games to go and points to play for. Whilst you may be tired of hearing this, I believe, as we have said from the start, all of this rebuilding and reshaping isn't something that can happen overnight; it will take time to see the benefit of the changes we made during the summer."

They talk about the rebuilding and reshaping as though we'd either just been bought by Ashley or just came back up from the Championship rather than those events being 8 and 5 years ago respectively. Aye, we've had a new manager but that in itself isn't anywhere near being the sole reason for the turmoil.
