100% agree, although I think Aarons at LB was lack of options to replace a shocking Haidara/wanting to make an attacking sub? Maybe he was hoping RA would play further forward?

Special mention to Crooks saying we've unrealistic expectations though.

Is winning a game at home to a very average Watford team unrealistic? Jumping on the "They automatically expect to finish top 10" bandwagon there isn't he.

How the fuck he has a job I do not know, he is the biggest cunt on the BBC. Did you see his rant yesterday about Mike Dean? Laughable.

It's easy for outsiders to judge our fans but they aren't paying money every week to watch shit football. After a summer of hype and spending we were promised we'd turned a corner and no more slumming it down the bottom of the table, yet after half a dozen games that's exactly where we are. For me it would be strange if any fans anywhere were happy with the last 4 games.

To add, there have been glimpses of what the team is capable of, but McClaren still has no clue what is the best system to play. So players potential is nullified. Until he works it out we will struggle. Need Dummett back ASAP aswell. As I made the point pre-season, I think the decision to sell Abeid is now proving criminal as we are crying out for his physicality in the centre of the park.

The team were a shambles in defence against Watford. There looked like there was zero organisation. Colback isn't capable of shielding the back four. Wijanldum was missing for most of the game. Haidara was fucking horrible. Jaanmat was good and somehow managed to have a brilliant game with zero help from pretty well everybody.

Second half was better but mostly because Watford sat on their lead. I think if they kept coming at us it could have been a lot worse.

We've got the ex England keeping coach and the best young 1st team coach in Europe apparently. We need to give them more than 5 games

I thought Thauvin showed flashes of promise playing on the right and cutting in yesterday. In the latter stages of the game Gini started taking players on and looked dangerous. Janmaat looked good going forwards but was at fault for the first goal and ultimately he's paid to defend so I'm not going to go as overboard as some. Mbemba looks very good but didn't track his man for the second goal either. We need to cut out individual errors and start converting chances. Cisse missed the target when through and scuffed a shot in the 6 yard box! Why the fuck he is still getting a game is beyond me

I think he may be fucked then. This might turn around eventually but I don't think the coming games are going to be evidence of that. We can't even say we're improving.

He needs til the end of the season man. Anything less and you haven't given him a chance and you run the very real risk of bringing someone else in who also can't turn it around in ten games.

Thankfully, I think Ashley will stick with him.

Agree that Thauvin showed some good signs. I think for a young kid coming into a new, tougher league he's done pretty well. Hasn't been amazing but has shown glimpses of quality and a desire to take on the opposition.

Widjnaldum has been disappointing since the Southampton game where he looked great. It seems he doesn't know what his role is currently. We saw some improvement in the second half yesterday thankfully. Mbemba is a talent, but he's raw and will probably make some errors along the way especially playing alongside an often disinterested Coloccini.

Haidara is frustrating be a use he does have the physical attributes to be good, but his on field awareness is poor and defensively he's erratic.

Completely agree.

Aye, on the whole I'd be happy if we finished 12th but started looking something like a team for once with a platform for better things in the years to come.

There's some very serious work that needs doing though. The most positive things for me about yesterday was that McClaren didnt start with two DMs again so he doesnt seem to be as thick as his predecessor

I've read lots of reasons why we're shit. From player nationality to lack of strikers. From recruitment to coaching via team selection. Ultimately, ANY of those are side issues. The heart of it is that NOBODY works at the club to win. They're ALL there as a means to an end. The owner sets that agenda from the very top. His only aim from being at the club is to advertise his shop. The chief exec and manager are out of their depth, promoted beyond their abilities to save money, they know no other PL club would have them. The players are at the club only as a stepping stone, their lack of pride and heart reflects everyone above them.

McClaren is out of his depth and no other PL club would have him? I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think that's very harsh.

Whey he was a failing championship manager that had won 2 games in 13 at Derby (the same as Carver at Newcastle) when we spent 6 months head hunting him without any competition.

Graham Carr has to take some of the blame. Since he hit the jackpot with Cabaye and Tiote (when he wasn't dogshit) he has brought brought in some utter shite.

Said it before, but I can't blame Carr really. I'm fairly convinced he provides lists of players to the men controlling the finances. Not really his fault if Charnley doesn't go and sign Aubemyang, Lacazette, Grenier, Veretout, Abdennour or whomever.

Also, we'd have been better keeping Cabella 2015, rather than signing Cabella 2014, who we'll probably replace next year.

Hoping that being forced to spend a lot in January will be the death knell for Charnley, it's him I blame for the half measures in the market.

Fully agree on Charnley being responsible for this - the guy is paid £100k a year. The CEO of the company that I work for, a company that turns over a mere £2m a year, is on more than that.

You get what you pay for, and we're paying nothing for the most important job in the organisation.

After having slept on it I would like to say what I think, of both the shambles match yesterday and this overall stance on McClaren. Firstly, the players.

Krul - His defence was absolutely atrocious and some say he couldn't really do anything for the goals. I felt, for the first goal, he shouldn't be beaten at his near post.

Janmaat - The fact that he is our joint top goal scorer and our main attacking threat is pretty embarrassing. Our RB was having more shots and showed more desire to beat men than any of our attacking players. Worrying stuff.

Colo - After putting in great performances vs Manchester United & Arsenal I felt, at the time, he was back to his best because of this new contract he's received. After West Ham and yesterday I feel he's still past it and those performances against Man U & Arsenal was probably because we were defending so deep, so his lack of pace couldn't be exploited. Deeney, a player who has spent most of his career in the Football League, bossed him.

Mbemba - Looks like our best signing of the summer so far. But he got took apart for the second goal. The tackle/block on Deeney's shot was great on looks like he could be one of the best defenders we've had.

Haidara - He tries, no doubt about it, but his decision making is just, well, appalling. Was at fault for the first goal by handing the ball away to Watford. He's still only 22 and it could be just down to poor coaching. Should we keep him? I'm really not sure.

Colback - I don't rate him and I have no idea why so many fans do. Whether it's because he's a Geordie or whatever I don't know, but in my opinion, he's a Championship footballer. Yes, he gives 110% every time he plays but I would rather play Anita.

Wijnaldum - No doubt about, he is a great footballer. I'm still amazed we managed to sign him tbh. But, is he being utilised correctly? He was bought as a playmaker, wasn't he, but we can't get him the ball enough so it feels like he's anonymous.

Sissoko - Was involved in the game but still didn't look bothered. Most of what he did in the second half was wait for Janmaat to overlap him so he could do something. His attitude boils my blood. No way is he CL quality. He can fuck off for £15m to the bench of some 'big' club he always wants to join.

Perez - Player with the most potential in the squad. You can tell he loves the Toon, he gives 110% and is quality. Will only get better but he barely got the ball yesterday.

Thauvin - Has been poor in the last 2 games and a lot of fans are questioning the club's acquisition of him. I think that there's something about him. I honestly have no idea what it is. Look, he's 22, he's just came to a new country and league and hopefully this little phase is him just adapting to it, but you can see he wants to take players on but it just hasn't been working for him vs West Ham and Watford.

Cisse - Drop him and sell him in January.

Onto McClaren. We've all seen the mongs on the internet saying 'McClaren Out' and they can fuck right off. Six games in. Yes, last two games have been shite and the set up has been questionable, but give him until Christmas and see where we are then.

We need to get at the cockney bastards from the start so we need to get the ball to Thaubin. If he decides to hide, like he did at West Ham,then get the twat off and get Aarons on asap.I'm starting to lose patience with our french speakers. We've tried for years to raid the french market with very little success.Ginola for brilliant in his first season then fucked on until he got a transfer.Robert proved to be a good signing.Goma didn't hangaround when the bright lights of West London came on his radar.Domi fucked off sharpish.Guivarch, well the less said about him the better.Boumsong is the worst defender i have seen in a black and white shirt.Mbiwa, who is still loved on here by many, was a fuckin gash and in every postion he was selected to play in.Cabaye was decent,on his day,and when he was interested, which wasn't very often.Bernard has his moments, but more in attack than defence.Haidara is the same.Marveaux,Obertan and Gouffran are garbage, absolute garbage, and all 3 happy to see out their 5 year contracts, and on contracts that will see them financially secure for the rest of their lives.Sissoko and Cisse,as we now know, are taking the piss out of us.Tiote had a good first season and has been shit ever since.I've probably missed a few out but i'm currently too pissed off with the twats to look then up.We need to fuck them off and fuck Carr's french pal off who keeps recommending shit french speaking players to him/us.

After watching that shite yesterday is anyone prepared to defend our French talking shite players for being shite again
