I see Chelsea are spending half a billion to add 18000 seats to their ground. Ouch

Aye I heard that this morning.

They will make that back in 4 seasons or so like.  Still mental.  Wonder who is paying for it.

Wonder how much corporate boxes will be going for in the new stadium?

I know someone at Newcastle who has one (not the cheapest of dearest) and it's £38,000. Or about two grand a game plus cup matches. Dread to think what they're charging

Ian Wright has said that Payet has a serious attitude problem because he has blossomed late.

Errr, what about Vardy?  Is that overlooked because he's English?

Having not gone pro till he was in his 20s, I suppose he'd know.

Hasn't Payet been a good player in the French leagues for years in all? Played for Lille and Marseilles before West Ham. I think it's probably a somewhat similar situation to Cabaye at us, he had a stand out season got interest but didn't get the big move he wanted so he's got unsettled.

Aye, assuming they will make CL every season, plus cup games etc. Avg price is about £60 aint it?

Nah

£60 a ticket x roughly 30 home games a season x 180000 extra seats = £32mil extra income

It would take 16 years to pay it back at that rate

They have a plan for 9000 more corporate seats apparently. That'll be the bulk of what's paying for it - the cheapest they get is £195pp, rising to £695 pp. Per match, that is.

If all 9000 are the lowest option possible, they'd get an extra £52.5m right there (less whatever the costs are for this). Plus about £20m from other tickets. I'd imagine it's a 5 year plan and that each season nets them c.£100m back against that with corporate seats averaging at around £3-400 or so.
