Christmas Tree 4711
How much did your equipment cost, CT? (Obviously including all the extras you'll have bought such as camouflage clothing, metal detecting guidebooks, etc). It's just that I've got a few Roman coins around 16-1700 years old and I'm guessing I got them easier and cheaper than anything you've found so far considering what you will have spent on petrol and gear. (Hands up, though, I never got to bother some cows getting them so I'll give you that one). £100 gumtree . Fisherman could go to Morrisons..... What you think. Makom 0
I'd say the average householder living in Britain has as much chance of finding a Roman coin by digging their back garden thoroughly than by bothering cows all fucking day with ear muffs on. And at least then if they're worth something you don't have to share half the profits with some farmer giles cunt. And it's not like all the known settlements from history won't have been swept a hundred times over by now, is it? Thanks to Time Team, ironically. Tom 14011
It's a delightful hobby as it happens. Beautiful countryside, brothers in arms and wild animals. And there's the history. Most finds are worth little but very interesting to find stuff from hundreds or a thousand years ago. You only have to look at the popularity of stuff like Time Team. Once again I'm breaking new ground and you will thank me one day.

Christmas Tree 4711
Shut it Roomba Boy! Also, a first for me in the world of hobbies, I'm upgrading my detector if anyone wants a cheap 2nd hand one.
Rayvin 5186
Upgrading... Although if you combined the Roomba and the metal detector you'd have a much more efficient means of finding assorted random crap...maybe you guys should swap notes?
