Rayvin 5296
This is how football will die - but the sooner it does die, the sooner it might go back to being something enjoyable.
Happy Face 29
I think the west Ham cheap season ticket announcement is more indicative of English football heading down the drain. I wrote why here.... http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/04/why-low-prices-will-ruin-football/
Makom 0
Hopefully all the corporate wankers who get the pick of the seats nowadays will be sufficiently confused by this and end up at the wrong north London stadium at 7.20 on a Monday night, or whenever the fuck it is they play the final at now. It's almost desperate the way the FA/broadcasters/pundits have been trying to claim this competition still matters these past few seasons. The reality is, it's become a corporate whore just as much as the PL and CL, and in footballing rivalry/tradition/bragging rights terms, it's their poor relation now, certainly for PL teams anyway. Makom 0
You can't even really make a case that title sponsorship is essential these days. If you're 'product' is good enough, you can make more than enough money - the Super Bowl being a prime example. It's the not the Doritos Super Bowl or the Super Bowl in association with Pepsi, it's just the Super Bowl. Sure, you can't move for sponsorship being applied to every singe other aspect of it, but when a corporate monster like the NFL makes your 'traditional' competition look cheap and tacky, then you know you've got issues. Agree with what you saying here but the difference in USA is that there's an Ad break every 5 mins, they make the money that way. Assuming we don't want enforced breaks in football to allow for "messages from our sponsors" then tacky as it sounds let them add Emirates to the name, we'll still call it "The FA Cup"! Gemmill 46027
Even the instant replays are sponsored in American sport man. It's mental.
ewerk 31196
If they want to keep the FA Cup relevant to the biggest clubs then they're going to have to keep offering improved prize money which I guess is what this is about.
Tom 14013
Emirates haven't really done anything different from other sponsors have they?
ewerk 31196
It was previously 'The FA Cup in association with Budweiser', it's now going to be 'The Emirates FA Cup'. Subtle but a reasonable change.
Tom 14013
Used to be 'The AXA-Sponsored FA Cup' a few years back. Can't see it being that different really.

Kevin Carr's Gloves 3965
Been working on a little thing with St Pauli supporters and came away re-energised about the future of football. Did you arrange for a hit man to club Asley to death with a 10 inch rubber cock just after shoving it up his fat cockney arse?
