The Fish 11112
Reckon they'll get at least a point of us on the weekend, but I think we'll be safe by virtue of picking up points from West Brom & West Ham and maybe even QPR too.

trooper 940
At today’s press conference ahead of Leicester, John Carver revealed how many points he thinks Newcastle need to be safe from relegation. The Newcastle Head Coach believes 39 points will be enough to ensure Premier League survival. That means 4 points from the next 4 matches, which doesn’t sound all that many until you take into account the fact that it is over two months since United picked up a single point. United face Leicester on Saturday and then have West Brom (H), QPR (A) and West Ham (H). A win over Leicester would all but guarantee survival as it would leave the Foxes needing 7 points from their last 3 matches, plus a number of other clubs having to pick up decent numbers of points. The club also released the following quotes from John Carver’s press conference: “It’s the biggest game of the weekend and huge for both sides. We need to stop this rot and get a result “Saturday is a tough game. Leicester are very well-organised, very strong and big, physical. “Four weeks ago Leicester were dead and buried but Nigel has turned them around and they are in with a chance of staying up.” “Paul Dummett and Moussa Sissoko coming back into the group this week has given us a lift.” “Siem de Jong is ready for this weekend, having played 90 minutes for the under-21s. He is not ready to start, however.”

ewerk 31657
And what does he mean about Sissoko coming back into the group? Where has he been?
StoneColdStephenIreland 74
Also in reference to meeting the two fans he kept banging on about how he's "one of them" and how it hurts him to see us doing poorly because yet again he's "one of them". If he realised he was "one of them" he'd have fucked off 3-4 games ago.
The Fish 11112
And what does he mean about Sissoko coming back into the group? Where has he been? Guessing Sissoko doesn't train with the 1st team for match prep when he's not going to be available?
trooper 940
So he reckons we need another 4 points for safety he's been in charge for the last 16 games were we've taken just 8 points thats 0.5 per game. Based on those figures we're going to be 2 points short.

trooper 940
“It’s not a big problem with Papiss’s knee – this was maintenance that was always going to be needed. They’ve removed the screw so it’s been sorted. I really don’t think his knee is a big issue now" ... Carver March 13th. "He (Cisse) is working with the medical team he's not 100%, he hasn't joined us yet with any football and so we will just have to wait and see" ... Carver April 30th. Howay 12496
Not really a shock mind is it Troop? the bloke is fucking clueless about football and that's the field he has worked in his entire life, I don't expect him to know anything about medical procedures or medicine in general more extreme than giving a kid calpol for headaches. trooper 940
Not really a shock at all mate just a lot of people were pinning their hopes on him scoring the goals in the last 3 games.
Noelie 103
Surely it could have waited until end of season or earlier if we were safe, if it's just a maintenance issue?
