Well the excitement around Carver's first game since being confirmed until the end of the season is pulpa, palpob, where you can almost feel it!

Squad: John Carver confirmed on Thursday that Davide Santon, Gabriel Obertan and Mehdi Abeid would be in the squad that travels to Humberside.

Whether Papiss Cisse returns from the African Nations Cup in time remains to be seen, but he is anticipated to arrive at the team hotel this evening.

Paul Dummett, misses out with a hamstring problem while Steven Taylor, Rolando Aarons and Rob Elliot remain sidelined.

Siem de Jong and Ryan Taylor are back in training but not in contention for a recall at present, while Cheick Tiote remains at the African Nations Cup with Ivory Coast.

I think if we get a win we've got little to worry about for the rest of the season but aye - if not we could get dragged into the shit. Martinez was saying Everton are in it - and there's not much difference. Of course the Democratic People's Republic of Newcastle United will tell us everything is rosy no matter how bad it gets.
