What’s possessed Jason Isbell to go to Stockton?! Was literally everywhere else fully booked?

No idea, but I know the Globe got a big refurbishment done recently and is quite posh now.  Still in Stockton though...

Saw Carcass here in Sydney in the early 90s with a mate who is the guitarist in a well know Australian stoner band and it was one of the weirdest gigs I’ve been too.

As someone who was use to pogoing and moshpits, everyone at the Carcass gig seemed to have their own personal space that no one else was allowed in.

I don’t remember anyone even bugging my mate, which at the time was weird as they had just toured as the support for Nirvana - strange folk those grindcore fans!

Carcass were great btw.

I see they're playing in Camperdown NSW next Saturday which looks like your neck of the woods. I caught them in Glasgow around this time last year and they in were great form. Bill is still rocking heavily downtuned LP speacials and somehow getting away with it.

Got given a vinyl copy of Torn Arteries today and while its far from my faveourite Carcass record I gave it another blast and felt compelled to check if they were touring. Wrong side of the world for me, bought High on Fire tickets instead.

Saw Radio Birdman on Saturday evening. Allegedly that's it but for a couple of 70/71 year olds they sounded amazing. Probably the best show I've seen them perform and I've seen them quite a few times since they reformed in the 90s.

edit: and to complete the legacy Australian (proto) punk bands, The Saints are doing a show in November with Mark Arm on vocals!

Saw the Foo's (again) this year, who were excellent (again).  Have Dave Gilmour in Oct which I can't wait, being a Floyd fan and seen Roger Waters several times, but never Gilmour.

Just booked tickets for Sleep Token, which is my current obsession and locally have OCS at the Tynemouth Festival this week (pissing down ofc) and next month Snow Patrol (and others) at Hardwick Hall festival.

I saw The National last week in Edinburgh. I wasn’t expecting much after seeing them on TV at Glastonbury but the sound in person was so much better. One of the few bands I’ve seen that sounds improved live vs on record.

Cardiacs Sing to Tim gig on Friday. Realised on the way in it's 20 years since I'd last heard any of their songs live. Properly cathartic experience and I spent most of yesterday trying to work out who the fuck the absolutely magnificent bastard they brought out to sing a few of the tunes Jon couldn't handle was.

It was only Mike fucking Vennart

I've now got his rendition of this number stuck on a loop in my head and for whatever reason I want that loop to continue until I get to witness it again.

Jason Isbell at the Stockton Globe last night was immense, easily in my top 3 gigs but R.E.M. in '95 will take some beating.

Fair to say the £20 million plus they supposedly spent refurbishing the Globe was well spent, love that Art Deco style from the olden days.

I was really tempted with going to see Isbell but I'd have had to go on my lonesome. Seems I missed a good one.

Ive also spent up this week after getting Shed Seven tickets for next Thurs at the Globe, and tickets for Fender at Leeds on Weds and also his SJP gig next year.

btw on the subject of The Saints 73-78 keep an eye out if you're in the U.S or UK/Europe ... hopefully see some of you then ciao

@spongebob toonpants @PaddockLad @Blastronaut

So the announcement for Saints 73-78 shows has happened. Added bonus Chimers (the support) are amazing.
