BLACKANDWHITEGEORDIE 0
Forest fans I've asked are saying that both players seem to lack commitment. Couldn't be better. Means they will fit in well with the likes of Willo, Colo, Riviere, Gouffran, Dumbwit, Obertan, Elliot.
The Fish 10662
According to The Chronicle this morning, Newcastle are apparently in pursuit of Polish international striker, Arkadiusz Milik. The youngster, who has spent this season on loan at Ajax from Bayer Leverkusen, has scored an incredible 17 goals in 16 appearances. Newcastle Chief Scout Graham Carr was in attendance last weekend during Ajax’s 2-0 win over Groningen. And it has been reported by a number of sources that the 6’1″ striker was the purpose of his visit. Signed from Gornik Zabrze for £2.1 million in 2012, Milik was put on a pedestal by Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller, one of Germany’s greatest No. 9s. “Arkadiusz Milik is considered to be possibly the biggest rising star in Poland at the moment,” Voller said, per Leverkusen‘s official website. “He has already made it to the Poland squad at the age of 18.” However, with just two goals in 24 appearances during his first two years in Germany for Leverkusen and Augsburg, Milik’s career was in danger of collapsing before it had even started. However, having refound form in Holland this year, a number of Premier League clubs have begun to circulate. And with Leverkusen already boasting a myriad of impressive strikers on their books – Josip Drmic, Stefan Kießling, Son Heung-Min – it is widely believed that Leverkusen would be willing to listen to offers. Milik has played for all the Polish Youth sides and he made his full International debut for the Poland national side against South Africa in October of 2012 – when he was 18. When analyzing players such as Milik, you have to be aware of the disparities between the Dutch league and the Premier League. One only has to look as far as former Newcastle target, John Guidetti, who, despite scoring 20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord a couple of season ago, struggled at Stoke City last season. Either way, however, Arkadiusz seems a very decent player and he may well be a top target for Newcastle this summer. And with Frank de Boer increasingly being linked with the managerial vacancy on Tyneside, there may be good reason for Milik to be attracted to a club like Newcastle. Another one for the summer thread that I can't be bothered to find. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngjUm0ol8Cg Edited January 23, 2015 by The Fish

David Kelly 1217
You would think that there's no chance of any of these signings happening without us having a permanent manager but the way football is in general these days (not just with our joke of a club), it wouldn't totally surprise me if we did sign them all. If this is true Charnley will be able to point at all the signings Newcastle made in the summer of 2015, when the majority have been paid for in 2014 or earlier. That's spot on like. If they're signing for anyone its Graham Carr who is to all intents and purposes DoF.

The Fish 10662
Who? Jorge Mere is a centre back from Sporting HEEHON that we've been linked to a couple of times (I think he's mentioned briefly in that Chronicle article by Mark Douglas) Veretout is a player Carr has been following for a while and is apparently the long term replacement for Sissoko Milik is another striker we've been linked to

Nah, I was just making the point that we could see a whole raft of players join in the summer of 2015, but they've already been paid for. It wouldn't be a one window splurge. They've been happy to use the purchase of Darlow and Lascelles as purchases made this season but no doubt they'll use them again in the summer. Even if we signed all of them, how many of the issues we have in the first team would be resolved. At a guess I'd say not a single one. Not that that has any baring on our tranfer dealings like. That's the key thing for me. Newcastle don't often seem to buy to address major weaknesses in the 1st team. So say we need a centre forward, a centre half and a right sided midfielder. None of those players I've mentioned are likely to be slotting straight in; Lascelles might be on the bench instead of Williamson, but he's not exactly been great for Forest so I'd be surprised if the new Head Coach put his faith him immediately. Can't see Darlow starting unless we sell Krul and again, Darlow hasn't been tearing up trees at Forest. Veretout, Concha, Mere, Ali, Milik? I'd be surprised. Milik & Mings are the only ones who seem ready for regular Premier League games, and with Milik that's based on him playing frequently for one of the better sides in the Eredivisie, and we all remember Afonso Alves. Quite often when we bring these players in who aren't for a position we're desperate for (Anita and Haidara being good examples) we fail to bring them into the team with any great success. To me this suggests a potentially massive issue with our recruitment process. Pardew clearly had an idea of what he felt we needed and players were brought in who didn't match that idea. As it stands I think it's fair to say that we would lose money on both of those players I mentioned if we sold them (particularly Anita who has been generally poor and looked out of his depth) and neither have made any great contribution to the team. So we are just wasting money.
