Everytime the kid dives for a ball his arms are flailing everywhere, no control at all, no awareness of his posts, no control of his box, I don't know how the fuck this kid has trained for this long to play in goal he can't even do the most basic goalkeeping things. Carver subbing on a left back for a left winger with a 12m left winger sat on the bench gives a good insight into how Pardew thought he was king. Second half was diabolical, fair play to Burnley but we did all we could to let them back in to it and they were unlucky to not win. Â Shocking subs and tactics, and Alnwick and Williamson just shouldn't be anywhere near this team. Not even the bench. Try Woodman if we have to, he can't be any worse. The same shit formation and selection, the same over-reliance on cloggers/"water carriers" rather than attacking players, the same suspect defence (what in fuck was Dummett playing at? How about Williamson's suicide header late on?), the same dogshit substitutions (Armstrong has contributed nothing so far at any point he's been on the pitch, Haidara was abominable, our 12m signing rots unused on the bench.) Burnley allowed us to come onto them and we did just that, well. 2) Carver made an absolute 100 car pile-up fireball of the second half. 3 system changes is not wise. 3) The first change saw us go 4-1-4-1 and leave a lone striker, which ended up as Armstrong. What good is he going to do in that role? 4) Then we ended up with a 3-5-1-1 formation, which resulted in our attacking play being really spread and hindered our ball retention. When will get see a Newcastle team that uses possession as a defensive tool? 5) Alnwick can't save a shot that's a yard either side with pace. Seems like he has really stumpy poppadom arms. 6) Whoever decided that Alnwick was a worthy 3rd choice needs to get their head checked. Loan keeper in January please. He's not exactly Diego Costa but he was scaring the fuckin shit out of the Burnley defence. We then lost any semblance of control in the centre of the park and tried to hit them on the break.
