The Fish 10793
As an aside, whenever toonpack has spectacularly lost an argument, he tends to revert to being a Grumpy Guss. Me? I tend to go radio silent for a bit.

Park Life 71
He wrote that Chavs book and The Establishment and How They Get Away with It. These books are aimed at the Southern middle class intelligensia and a bridge to a media career spouting claptrap about 'socialism'. Class enemy. Also it's the worse kind of writing 'factoid dumptruck'. Edited January 7, 2015 by Park Life

Park Life 71
"In all of this, one theme was unmissable: whatever happened to Ben Elton, the Tory-bashing, mockney-spouting, stand-up radical who helped transform British comedy in the Eighties? Most of the people who today run, and for that matter, write about, television grew up thinking of Ben as a prime adornment of the anti-Thatch resistance, and believed that his routines would have the masses laughing their way out of their chains. When it turned out that Elton wasn’t quite as seditious as the comrades had hoped, and, by his own admission, was slightly bewildered to find himself being cast as any kind of political figurehead, his reputation in right-on circles began to wither. The process was accelerated by the discovery that he came from a well-to-do family, the son of a prominent physicist, had been educated at a top Surrey grammar school, and that his street punk London accent had been adopted in the hope that comedy circuit audiences would find it funnier." ChezGiven 0
http://www.spectator.co.uk/spectator-life/spectator-life-life/9022871/socialist-climbing/ Stupid premise, the fact that New Labourites made a shed of cash post-power is standard for ex-politicians everywhere for over a decade now. Being being fabulously wealthy all your life and then fucking the working class when you come to power for ideological reasons is a very different proposition to doing loads for the working class in power and then becoming fabulously wealthy afterwards by exploiting lobby-hungry bloated clients.
