Some really good football at times, lovely one touch between Vuckic, Bigi & Roberts. Shame the finishing wasn't at the same level.

Stoke were Stokeing as much as any Stoke side I've ever seen get their Stoke on

Campbell is never going to make it in the PL like

I agree, shame like, yet another kid who's torn up the scoring charts in the youth system, never to make the next step.

Bigi showed flashes of real quality and Vuckic is still a raw talent (which at his age is surely a bad thing) but as you said, Roberts looks really exciting; pace, control, composure, skill and vision.

I've thought that for ages. You have to be exceptional with his physique really.

That's true enough but a lot of the hype was mentioning him winning awards that the likes of Messi & Iniesta did. The inference was that he had that (or close to the) exceptional talent.

I think he won player of the tournament at some youth summer cup, where they'd also won it before. Not trying to belittle the achievement but it's not something you should read that much into. If he'd been recognised by some global / pan-European award for a particular year it would be more significant. I don't want to or mean to write him off. I just think he'll have difficulty because of his size. And while he's fast, he's not that fast (or doesn't seem to be). I really hope I'm wrong, obviously.

His control is decent and his pace is ok, but not startling, certainly not in the same bracket as Obertan or Aarons or any of those players who you would describe as "fast". Christ, every Premier League player has to be fast, but those lads are lightning.

I think his best hope would be to try and become like Lallana or a bankrupt man's Silva?

Wish Campbell could get a loan out to a foreign league for a year, like Abeid, I think he would do well in Southern European leagues like Spain, Italy, Greece or something? I think his talent is being wasted here, not getting first team experience. He should couple up with another prospect, like Vuckic, Bigi so he wont go alone.

Are you on about Campbell? His pace is more than ok like he is utterly rapid.

Really? I know he's supposed to be rapid, but I've not seen it in any of the games I've caught where he featured.

I'm still hopeful Campbell could become something for us. He's looked pretty good in the few games I've seen him play for the first team. Also Pardew doesn't rate him so that can only mean he's got some quality.
