Gotta get that revenue in from all that corporate hospitality. Btw, wasn't it Lord's (maybe last year at the Ashes) where Jamie Oliver had a stall selling steak sandwiches for £20?

Unless he produces something amazing in the 2nd innings Finn will definitely be dropped. Ball probably will be too with Anderson and Stokes coming in. Always said Woakes was a top player ;)

aye, fair play to woakes for finally coming good at test level - he's been one of the bowlers of the summer so far. it'd be interesting if you had him and stokes in the same side - both genuine all rounders who would lengthen the batting and bowling attack.

shame finn has gone off the boil because he's the one member of the attack that gives you something totally different (when he's on song) with bowling from that height with the extra bounce he's able to extract. shame about his radar.

looks like we've got a game on with hales going early. we did well to whip them out for 330 but that may prove to be a decent score.

Amazing to see the extra pace Woakes has gotten. Shows a lot is down to technique and rhythm. When the likes of Finn and Harmison in the past were bowling well (and quick) it seemed relatively effortless to them.

Finn seems to have these runs of poor form that he struggles to get out of. When he's in them he's not much use at all but when he's on song he's a real threat.

Looks like we're really going for the win with the way we've started. Cook 41 off 51 and Root 39 off 50.

Think they might look at someone like Sam Robson with the idea of having three openers as your 1,2,3. I totally get your argument Gloom re: Root at 3 and without the daft shot he might've got a big score today. It just feels like they've shifted the problem a bit lower down the order. Still like the look of Vince but he's getting desperate for a score now. Think him and Ballance will get most of this series at least as long as the team keeps winning. That's the luxury a lot of batsmen have had. I don't like to look backwards but are Vince or Ballance better than Bell? Maybe he was discarded too soon

england in a spot of bother here at 232-7

you have to say moeen was a bit unfortuante there though on the review, umpire's call on impact and stumps.

Beautifully poised this test match, low scoring games when bowlers are on top always make for good games.

Anything over 300 is going to be hard work to chase down.

This is a gripping test match. Pakistan still favourites but England making a real fist of it. If these two can put on another 50 or so, it'll

Be close

He got 48 in the first innings. Both dismissals were to silly shots as well

It's the impact on the rest of the middle order as well. He's been one of the best in the world at four so leave him there and build around him.

If we had better batters in the squad i would agree. I think you need a special player at 3, and he's our best batsman.

Good to see Vince and Ballance making scores. Shame neither of them could have gone on. One century could have taken us home. It's always going to be a struggle if no one makes a ton in two innings.
