They always predict 5-0 so nothing different whoever is picked

Yeah but he hardly bowls any more, is susceptible to short-pitched bowling and has a terrible record against them.

He’ll add something to the batting at number 8 i suppose. Should buy into the bazball philosophy as it’s pretty much how he bats anyway

Don't blink or you'll miss Crawley's innings.

superb - how many days you there for? edgbaston is the best ground to watch cricket in the country. i've got tickets for saturday in the hollies stand. days one or two are the ones to be at all series, i reckon, because i can't see many tests lasting more than 3-4 days, the speed this england side play

bold prediction - no draws all series. england to nick it 3-2

that's based on the bazball approach blowing them away more than anything.

i might have to revise the prediction later on as i don't think we have the depth or variety in the bowling attack to win the series if stokes can't bowl. the aussie attack looks very, very good. four proper seamers, a spinner and an all rounder. probably the best in the world at the moment. plus they have labuschagne and the cheating cunt smith, who are both bound to average 50+ for the series

Genuinely excited but also very wary of it all going to shit, especially as the Aussies are no slouches.  Even if you get Warner and Kwaja out cheaply, you still have the top 3 batsmen in the world currently following.  Their bowlers are better than anything we have faced recently, as well.

We do bat deep though, and our bowlers are pretty good () but don't have the same continuous pace.

Whatever way it ends up, I anticipate that it will be tight.

I think the result in the first test could well decide the series, because whoever wins will be on a roll.  At least we won't surrender meekly but if we do fail it will be with all guns blazing.

Bring it on.

Beautiful day in Brum. You’re having a bat unless the pitch has any demons in it. Cue Stokes winning the toss and having a bowl so he can chase the target down: it’s the bazball way.

If we do bat we may as well just start one down because even on a batting paradise Crawley won’t score more than 10.
