Toonpack 9316
Tremendous bowling all round, 47 dot balls, all but equivalent of 8 maiden overs and in a 20/20, unreal tbh.

He gets even better. You knew we’d win if he was there at the end

The next time we approach anything like The Cuban Missile Crisis then we just need to send Stokes in to sort it out.
aimaad22 4156
Fair play lads, congrats, well deserved. England easily the best team in the competition. Our batting was below par, 20 runs short at least. Bowlers did well to try and make a game of it but England looked fairly comfortable throughout to be honest.

Helped that your best bowler fucked himself taking that catch. Could've been a bit tighter although I would've expected Stokes to drag us over the line. 🙂

I thought your lot bowled superbly and if Afridi hadn’t picked up that injury then who knows? As the pressure was starting to build. Then there was that 14 runs off 4 balls or something and that just killed the game. Rashid bowled a lovely spell too. Proper master of his craft

Proper master of his craft agreed about rashid - the pick of the bowlers aiong with curran. i still think england missed a trick not investing in him more as a test player. I think Stokes is the only captain we’ve had in that period who would use him properly. Look at how Leach looks better with right fields set. I don’t think Root in particular trusted him (I never rated Root as a captain and the senior bowlers set their own fields). There’s also the way you need to bowl more stock balls in tests and white ball cricket being more about variation. At Yorkshire he became a white ball specialist. Didn’t they stop picking him in county championship games? With what’s come out since you wonder if prejudice played a part. In any case, it’s difficult to say Rashid could’ve had a better career if he’d been able to concentrate on the longer format. He’s had an absolutely stellar career Edited November 14, 2022 by Alex

He’s had an absolutely stellar career i think you're probably right. rashid might have flourished under stokes and mccullum and it's a shame he never had the chance to play for an attacking coach/captain in tests. Proper master of his craft Rashid was outstanding. Got Babar just when he looked settled. Depth bowling from England was great too because at something like 110 with 5 overs to go 160 looked probable. Back to not caring about cricket till the next World Cup, its the exact opposite of football
Surreymag 71
Great result after the disappointment of both rugby teams losing all be it narrowly. Well done to the team especially Stokes. Does he still play for Durham when he can fit it in?
