David Kelly 1224
Vauhagn has been pretty scathing about Sibley and Lawrence not being test standard and it's hard to argue with him. The thing is, I'm not sure which of the players, other than Root, Stokes, Broad and Anderson, and probably Woakes, are. The young players just aren't improving and the likes of Bairstow, Buttler and Ali keep looking like they are just white ball specialists. The ECB's focus on white ball competitions definitely isn't helping. The Ashes is a frightening prospect currently.
Alex 34954
Archer out of the Ashes. Never been right since he was over bowled by Root in NZ
Dr Gloom 21869
Can’t see us doing much down under without Archer. We needed him and Wood firing to stand a chance really. Robinson could get some joy on Aussie wickets but he’s a test match rookie. Could be a long series
Alex 34954
Can’t play Wood in 5 consecutive tests. Well, we can but he’ll end up like Archer

Dr Gloom 21869
I wouldn’t mind giving him a go at 6 or something in the future but we need to try something else before the ashes because the Aussies are going to be licking their lips looking at our current top

Batted when batting was at its easiest too. 75 caps? The mind boggles. You’re right what you say about him re: today though Bairstow looked good for his 30 before picking out the fielder on the boundary so well with a hook shot that he didn’t have to move

essembeeofsunderland 811
Bumrah’s 9 ball over to Anderson in the first innings. Were his 3 no balls intentional, to put the shits up Anderson even more ? If so,it certainly paid off in a major way with regards to winning the match.

Bizarre tactics bowling at two bowlers averaging single figures with the bat. Edited August 17, 2021 by Dr Gloom
Ugly Mackems 133
Durham nicely into the Royal London One Day Cup Final. Fine semi final win today. The final, with supporter attendance given the highest priority, is on Thursday. Live on SKY!
David Kelly 1224
Durham have been superb in the competition this year helped by losing non of their batsmen to the hundred and Rushworth getting more of a run out than he has in recent years with Carse, Potts & Raine all at the Northern team. Hopefully they have Beddingham tied down to a long term contract because he's been unreal in all formats. South Africa must surely be looking at him. Some talk of a possibility for Lee's to come into one of England's troublesome top order positions too. He's averaged well over 40 since moving to Durham.
Alex 34954
Of course, like everyone else out of the side, Lees hasn’t played any red ball cricket since the beginning of June
David Kelly 1224
No its not ideal preparation but at least he's been making hundreds in the one day cup. Of course the quality of opostion he will have been facing is far weaker but he's doing pretty much all he can.
