I would have played Butler instead of Ballance. Ballance has never convinced me and Buttler is already used to the conditions over there and was in great form in the ODI's. Ok so he might not play but it seems that he's destined to play at some point in the future. When that time comes he'll have this experience to fall back on. The matches maybe (and yestderdays training by the looks of it) but there will have been training before hand and just being away from home in this sort of environment (with the very different security and such). He's bound to be a bit more comfortable with it in the future if he comes back. I'm not saying there's much (if any) improvement as a player he's going to get from it but I just think it will help him be more comfortable with the situation whenever his real time comes. I can't see Broad being much use to us at all in this match. Might have been worth leaving him out and going with four spinners. Not that I think we'd ever go that way.
