essembeeofsunderland 811
The ground is at Chester le Street, not Durham,so what part of that do you and most of the media not get.

Same as 'playing at Lancashire' means Old Trafford or 'playing at Notts' means Trent Bridge...

Kid Dynamite 7025
I live in Chester Le street. I call it Durham cricket ground. Chester Le street cricket ground is a completely different place in the town centre
CleeToonFan 1
J69, some tickets left for Sunday and I'm thinking of snagging two, how easy is the ground to get to, what's the parking situation like and does a good atmosphere get going (only been to more 'traditional' cricket grounds so have a completely irrational idea that it won't be as good at a newer place)
RobH 0
i'd like to see onions have a bowl on his home ground. he's been unlucky not to win more caps really. he's always looked impressive bowling in tests, averages under 30 iircSecond best english bowler when in England. Ludicrous that he hasn't played in this series. Bresnan is bang average at test lever.
essembeeofsunderland 811
When i lived in Chester le,the locals called the town centre ground `The Cricket Club' and the home of Durham CCC was known as `The Riverside'.It was never known as Durham Cricket Ground.Maybe it's changed. Kid Dynamite 7025
That's because the ground used to be called 'The Riverside'. It isn't anymore

There's one road in and out to the car park and its gridlocked trying to get out at the end of the game The ground will be bouncing I'm sure. Near enough sold out. Currently looking like rain on Friday so I hope that changes! Edited August 7, 2013 by TheRollingStones
Gemmill 44811
I've paid for parking at the ground - 7 quid. I'm resigned to it taking ages for me to get out.
Kid Dynamite 7025
Just have a drink for half an hour at the end and let the rest race to get out. Met office says its looking dry on Friday now. Which day you going?
Gemmill 44811
I'm going on the Monday. Can't find a forecast on the met office that goes out that far. Looks like heavy showers on the Sunday though!
luckyluke 2
I'm going on Monday too. The last time I was at CLS England gave the Aussies a damn good thrashing (one dayer in 2009). Here's hoping for a repeat.
Dr Gloom 21912
i'm off to day one at the oval. gemmill, i'd advise against driving. a day spent boozing at the cricket is one of life's pleasures.
Gemmill 44811
I'm not a big boozer tbh and particularly not a daytime boozer. I'd be hungover by tea!
ChezGiven 0
Get some reefers on the go instead, you could even dig out your old Ruud Gullit wig. Obviously spend the day speaking like Michael Holding. Should be a right laugh and you can still drive home.
Gemmill 44811
I'll need to run a lead from the car to power the vaporiser. "Nat oat." That's my best Holding impression. Edited August 7, 2013 by Gemmill
Craig 6682
I see the Aussies are getting their excuses in already.... tape on KP's bat indeed.....
desmondTUTU 0
Because they really would cheat by widening the bat making an edge more likely.
