Have the LMA been contacted for a quote yet?

I've read about managers being paid a percentage of any profit made on players who were brought in by them.So a manager for example will receive a £1m bonus if his team are promoted. They are sitting top of the division at Xmas.A club offers £6m for their star striker the manager signed for £1m,with half the profit going to the manager .Does he sell and pocket £2.5m commission or refuse to sell him and possibly pocket £1m as a bonus for winning promotion.Too much money in the game and too many shithouses making too much money in the game.

Watch out it's Andy McNab.

The club would have agreed to it.Making £2.5m and not being promoted would probably be acceptable a lot of chairman.

Surely the promotion itself is far more profitable though? I mean, I get that your scenario is just hypothetical and the amounts could be different, but even so...

So it's the fans being shortchanged, ultimately.

If this continues to happen in the lower leagues you can understand chairmen doing it.Too much money to be made by being promoted to the Championship or the Premier League i would think.Of course the fans would suffer, they always do.I don't think for one minute this would be on the mind of the chairman and manager when discussing it.Slightly different situation but if a big club put a decent offer in for Defoe, the makems would probably sell.If a club offered £30m for Gayle in January, and we still had Pardew as manager,Ashley would probably sell.
