Needs the old guard to buy up all the singles at the back of the Gallowgate and give 90 minutes of shit to owner and manager week in and week out IYAM.

Perhaps this could be SPDC next effort?

I think Ashley would either not care, certainly not want to be seen to care and, if possible, get them thrown own.

Pardew will tough anything out to stay in post.

Relegation might not even be enough to shift Alan.

Think their Hull statement posted by Trooper alludes to why that's not a good idea for them.

I think SPDC have to be careful about who they alienate. The major criticism they received last week was their protest would hurt the team and it wasn't supportive of them to take the limited action they did. The majority in the stadium simply won't get behind going to games and looking to be a negative influence.

SPDC couldn't know what 30,000 people would do, even if they all got their banners into the ground. In the event though, those who got past the stewards didn't boo or chant at all. They just did a silent protest for 1 minute which brought a spotlight on Pardew without harming the team or their chances of winning one bit.

Think that's what they need to keep promoting to avoid being picked off like MAOC and NUST and left as an irrelevance.

It's down to individual choice if people start or join a chant in protest. There were plenty outside of the 5th minute that were spontaneous, but not close to being as loud as they were against Cardiff. Think those will get louder without the interference of a website making demands on how to support. That's more likely to put folk off.

I can understand fans not wanting to do anything within the ground which might affect the team's performance because I think, already, people are genuinely worried about relegation and, by extension, what that might mean for the club second time around. I think the cautious approach is a good one. They've clearly got their heads sewn on and don't seem to be ego-driven like Mark Jensen obviously was / is.

I'm not even convinced not going to games is the answer and I say that as someone who stopped going because I felt like I was being shafted and laughed at by Ashley. It's really difficult to know how to play this one without doing more harm than good but I admire the measured and well organised way they seem to be going about things so far.

I still don't think it will make any difference either way. Silent, chanting, baying or the Macarena. They will both tough it out.

Totally agree. Their campaign must remain cohesive and respectful....In the early stages anyway. ;)

Try not going, see if that fails.

I can see from those that have tried not going that it hasn't made any difference, just made Ashley less abused when he comes.

Attendance in the past 3 years is HIGHER than in the 3 years previous.

If the protest in the ground didnt work would the SPDC group consider a peaceful protest outside the ground. Again informing the local council, police, tv, radio and newspaper media. Maybe's people were scared to protest in the ground through fear of being ejected or refused entry to the ground.

You and KKG wouldn't be going anyway as you live 100s of miles away tbh.

A fair point, although I used to go to several away games and one or two home games a season. Packed it in altogether now, I despise the administration and feel very little connection with the team either. It's not even entertaining. At least slamming your cock in the door will lead to a nurse touching it.

We dont know who the people are behind SPDC but we do know they seem to be very organised, professional & knowledgeable. They seem to be able to do the ground work of informing & organising but ultimately it's the fans that are going to have to bite the bullet (for better or worse) and carry things forward.

I've just stated above your point is inaccurate. It may have been an easier decision to make, but I have still made it.

Easier to make then. Much easier in fact since you admit not enjoying it was also a big factor. Which somewhat disagrees with your earlier inference that it was all about a protest.

It made the decision much easier for me too, as I have admitted before and have never denied. Which is why I'm less inclined to criticise those who still do enjoy it. I think people thinking not going serves some higher purpose are kidding themselves.
