Christmas Tree 4669
Captain Fabricio Coloccini has called upon Newcastle United supporters to "get right behind the players" on Saturday, as the Magpies face Hull City in the Barclays Premier League (3pm kick-off). United will take to the St. James' Park pitch in search of their first league win of the season - at the fifth attempt - and Coloccini knows the importance of the Tyneside crowd's full backing. "It will not be an easy game because Hull are a good team," the Argentine centre-back wrote in his captain's notes for this weekend's matchday programme. "It is very important that you are right behind us and support the team and the players who are on the pitch. "You want to win every game, just like us, and we all want the best for this football club. "We are football fans too, so we understand that things can get frustrating. But please, support the team for 90 minutes inside the stadium. We need your support. "We have a lot of new players and a young squad. They need your backing, a push from you and a positive atmosphere to get the best out of them. "Hopefully, you can cheer us on to three points and that will give our season a real boost." Alex 34718
Going to go a bit HF here but, if you look at his points per game*, since he arrived Pardew has accrued 1.31 pts/game. Even if you take out the season we came 5th it's 1.17. Ashley would be more than happy with the latter every season since it would work out at about 44 points a season which would probably equate to something like 10th/11th every year (if not slightly higher). Obviously, 4 games in, and it's only a point every other game so far. If that doesn't improve quite soon we're fucked but I can see why Ashley is sticking with Pardew at the minute. That's not a defence of either of them, just my trying to guess how Ashley's mind probably works regarding this. Defeat against Hull and he might feel like keeping the status quo is a chance he can no longer take. Â Â *Makes more sense than looking at his win ratio, not least since it only accounts for league games and that's all the club is arsed about anyway. Anyway, Statto.com's current points prediction* sees us finishing joint 4th bottom on 38 points, 2 points above 3rd bottom. I would probably take that as well. *Updated after every round of games. StoneColdStephenIreland 74
Only thing that worries me is that if we do win then some media will see it as Pardew proving doubters wrong etc. I think a protest after the game needs to be done to show that it's not about is winning, losing or drawing, it's about getting him out of the club. The Fish 10662
 End of the road for Alan Pardew? Richard Heathcote Feelings clear: A 'Pardew Out' banner displayed at Southampton last week Into the third year of his eight-year contract on Tyneside, this could be the weekend that Alan Pardew's time as leader of the Geordie nation comes to an end. Pardew attempted to place the emphasis on the club's supporters this week ahead of the home game with Hull: "Certain issues, particularly the issue regarding me, have to somewhat take a bit of a back seat for the team because it’s going to be a very difficult environment." The issue over St James' Park being a difficult environment is a questionable one. The Toon Army will give their wholehearted backing to their side throughout. It is extremely rare that they turn on someone in the black-and-white stripes, whether they're a local lad (Paul Dummett) or a mercurial foreign talent (Hatem Ben Arfa). Manager's however...or so it goes. BIRD: Pardew 'dead man walking' By his own assertions, 2014 hasn't been good enough for Pardew. And while they haven't been good enough for supporters either, his actions and behaviour - headbutting David Meyler, jettisoning Ben Arfa, complaining about unrealistic expectations - have dug himself a hole, not anything fans have done. It was never the supporters who said Newcastle should be finishing above eighth, let alone aiming for a top four spot. It's not the supporters who have collected just 0.75 points per game in 2014. Nor is it the supporters who have set up a team which has lost by three or more goals on nine occasions this year. That was all the former West Ham and Charlton boss. And yet fans, who are blamed and shut out by the club, still turn out in their numbers, to follow the side across the length and breadth of the country. A fans group have planned an anti-Pardew protest this weekend, featuring 15,000 display cards, and reportedly 200 baners. A victory will likely see Pardew cling to his post for another week. Defeat to Steve Bruce's men, and it's almost certainly the end of the road.  From the Mirror's "6 things in the Premier League to watch out for..." Â If Ashley thinks he's got it in him to keep us up he's gonna be cutting it close. Or, as pointed out in the Mirror article Fish posted above, 0.75 points per game in 2014. Extrapolate that over a season and we won't even be close to staying up.

Howay 12496
Fuck up Colo, concentrate on not having a mare this week nevermind what the crowd are doing. Aye, this about sums up my feelings on the matter. Fans preparing to protest so first get the man they hate to accuse them of mass hysteria at results so early in the season (being a cunt while completely missing the problem the fans actually have), then wheel out the captain, a bloke who very recently was actively trying to get the club to give him away so he could go home, for another condescending rallying cry. I get he probably didn't write it but the point still stand, they're doing a good job of hoying petrol on the fire tbh.
