Harry Redknapp says Newcastle United can break into the top seven this season

Harry Redknapp has tipped Newcastle United to finish in the top seven this season.

The Queens Park Rangers boss was asked his verdict on United after being quizzed about the future of Toon target Loic Remy.

And he feels that Alan Pardew’s side can pull away from mid-table.

He said: “It’s going to be tight, the whole league will be close.

“It will be the same seven teams scrapping it out at the top, and the same seven as last year.

“I think the only team you could see maybe breaking into that seven might be Newcastle.

“Then you’re going to have everybody else scrapping away to stay in the middle of the table, then you’ll have teams fighting to stay up.

“That’s only my opinion, I’ll probably be miles wrong as usual, but if anyone’s going to get into the top seven I think they’re a team that could possibly do it.

“They’ve bought some top-quality players in the summer, and I think they might be the one team that could push for the top seven out of the next pack.

“Otherwise from Everton upwards, they look the same teams.”
