ewerk 30546
Well I'm not a scout but there'd be plenty available for that sort of money. Could have paid Lescott's wages with it, who'd definitely have been an improvement on what we have. No scope for profit though. Plenty available but very few any good for approx. £3.5m. Lescott will be on at least £3m and at 31 would be a gamble.
BLACKANDWHITEGEORDIE 0
Ashley is paying both their wages next season as part of the deal.
ewerk 30546
What are they likely to be on £5k pw? Not massive money if you factor it into the overall cost of the deal.

The Fish 10849
http://www.nottinghampost.com/Nottingham-Forest-defender-Jamaal-Lascelles/story-25713557-detail/story.html Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles is to appear at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The offence, according to court papers, is alleged to have happened at Lola Lo on Victoria Street in Derby on April 23. Lascelles, 21, of Kieran View in Oakwood, is currently on bail on the condition he does not contact Usmaan Hussein. The England Under-21 defender will leave Forest at the end of the season, having been sold to Newcastle United with Reds’ No.1 Karl Darlow for £7m. In November, Lascelles was drafted into training with the Three Lions’ senior squad by Hodgson. With the likes of Danny Welbeck, Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs, Ross Barkley and Saido Berahino doing “modified” training and gym work, Hodgson promoted Lascelles from the England Under-21s to train with the 16 remaining members of the England squad. ewerk 30546
It seems utterly ridiculous that Lascelles' season with Forest is over yet he can't be recalled. It would be interesting to know whether there's some rule prohibiting his return to us or whether Charnley fucked up by not inserting a recall clause to be activated following the end of Forest's season. NJS 4377
Isnt it even more stupid than that in that they named Darlow in the pl squad which meant we couldn't borrow a keeper but didn't name Lascelles which means loan over or not he can't play anyway. Did they? I thought the reason we couldn't loan him back is because it was outside of the terms of the loan agreement?
ewerk 30546
As an U-21 he didn't have to be named in the squad iirc. Edit: We did have him named on our list of u21s http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2014-15/sep/premier-league-squad-lists-2014-2015.html Edited May 5, 2015 by ewerk

Howay 12496
Definately forgot to put in a recall clause this Charnley nob is as shite at his job as Carver is at his. This is incredible. If Ashley would just appoint actual qualified people we would be a good side by now, the prem is full of absolute morons, look at how tragic we have to be to be in the running to finish below Sunderland and co. Billy Whitehurst 895
A bit about Jamaal Lascelles in Nowhere Men by Michael Calvin Very good book that (as 'Living on the volcano' by the same writer). The book is pretty scathing about young British players and their attitudes and desire. The only British prospects that any of the scouts rated are Sterling (this was written before he had broken into Liverpool's first team), Lascelles and Butland (although there were one or two question marks over him).
