The report says that a five year agreement is proposed which would see Sports Direct take over the running of the club shop, Sondico (an Ashley brand – check out the SJP advertising at the next match) would be the shirt sponsor and the stadium is to be given the Sports Direct branding. Howmanheyman 33845 Posted April 25, 2014 Share Posted April 25, 2014 Pretty sure there was an early John Hall interview in the Sunday Sun just after he sold it to Ashley where he suggests the motive for the buy was to use as a vehicle for his sports clothing company and that seems the most likely to me.
