He's definitely Premier League quality and probably top half at that. But he is 27 and we might be better off stealing some of the top young Championship players? That would be the major sticking point, I think he'd have to take a pay cut to go pretty much anywhere that would take him (unless a team is particularly desperate) but it would probably come down to who paid him the closest to that 90k as he'd probably pretty much walk right into the team of any of the sides rumoured to be after him so that wont be a factor. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a top Championship prospect as Fish mentions but if Delph was a real possibility I'd rather we just signed him as we've already got Hayden as a prospect type player so it'd be nice to have a PL-level player who, at 27, is coming into what should be his peak years. So he's there for 5 months, that's about £2m. If they stay up they get PL finances again and will probably release some less useful squad players. If they go down then sure, they've lost £2m, but they're also certain to get rid of him for about what they paid. EDIT - They might be able to get him in on loan as well. An £8m fee plus £90k a week for 6 month is a lot of money for a club that has nowt, I'm not convinced Delph would be the sort of target they'd risk going broke for. First season in a new league/country in a relegated team , played 22 times half of them as a sub still got 9 goals in the BPL this year barely got 5games worth of minutes and has 4 and 2 assists, he's a good centre forward, just can't get in with Gayle having a great run at the minute Likewise for Perez Same here. I really like these two characters despite Mitro being a bit mental sometimes (excuse the language). Hope they keep their heads up and continue their progression as footballers. Plenty of quality CMs available this January to replace Shelvey/Diame Still wish we'd managed to get Carrick I'd have any of the ones rumoured at Newcastle, I'd rather we signed one and then had them bed in the side for 6 month so they were settled when we went up as there's no chance Chelsea would let us sign Loftus-Cheek from them.
