Apparently Pardew's now interested in Mitrovic & has enquired about Dummett. Rafa obviously doesn't need to sell Mitrovic but with Swansea, Palace & others showing interest £15 million could be a starting point for a bidding war. If it gets to silly money Rafa might be overruled by Ashley

I think Rafa won't need to be overruled by Ashley if a bid comes in for mitrovic that is more or less what we paid, tbh, Troops.

According to his Twitter page and him standing in The Back Page with a Rafa scarf, I'd say he's signed up

Haven't seen that, awesomesauce. HWANEETOH

Seems to be a backlash against Mitrovic on twitter which, for me, is a bit harsh for a young lad who scored last season, who's scored on his few opportunities this season and who clearly tries hard whenever he's in the shirt. Gayle deserves to start because he's banging them in, and he suits Rafa's current setup well. To write off a young lad is a bit fucking silly iyam.

Looks like we've been linked with a loan deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Not sure about a backlash from my own POV, I was expecting better from the lad this season in particular as I thought there was potential there last season but he's went backwards if anything. I've big doubts about him and yes, there's times you can't help like the kid but equally, he's a bit of a knacka at times and there's doubting his absolute lack of pace which is a massive problem in a Rafa side that plays only one up top. I don't even think he has it all his own way in the air either as it happens. I was probably 70/30 that he'd make a success of it this season but you can reverse that percentage from what I've seen at home and the odd away game I've seen. I certainly won't slag the kid but I'll be surprised if he's playing PL football next year with NUFC and Rafa.

He's only played 443 minutes this season, overwhelmingly from the bench. Only Grant Hanley in what can be considered the 1st team squad has played fewer minutes. He's scored 3, and got 2 assists in those brief appearances.

That's a goal every 147.66 and an assist every 221.5. That says to me, there's a good player in there who because of circumstances  (Gayle's form and the system) and doubts over his discipline isn't getting a shot.

For comparison

Shelvey 292 Min per Assist

Ritche 271.33 Min per Assist

Gayle 85.53 Min per Goal

Perez 327 Min per Goal*

Gouffran 348.75 Min per Goal

I get that in this system and in this form, Gayle has to start, but people are genuinely wanting shot of him if we get what we paid for him. He has as many goals and assists as Perez, in less than half the time on the pitch.

Madness iyam.

He was anonymous v Blackburn, absolutely dogshit. He missed sitters in the Preston duck shoot v 10 men and caused unnecessary grief with the penalty argument with Ritchie. Rafa likes to rotate but isn't playing him very much which should maybe tell us something as well? I'm happy to be wrong as it happens but I'm not seeing it.

Everyone was dogshit against Blackburn, harsh to single out Mitrovic. He has missed a few, but he's obviously still a work in progress, I think people forget just how young he is. The shit with Ritchie was silly, but to be honest I like to see strikers hungry to score goals. When we twatted Shef Wed, Paul Robinson won a penalty, I think we were already 5-0 up at the time and Shearer took the ball off him to score his 4th (?). Also, after that he continued to work hard and got his hattrick, so I don't see the harm.

The rotation thing is fine, but as I've said, Gayle is in unbelievable form, 85minutes per goal is brilliant, undroppable, form. He's also held back by playing in a position that doesn't lend itself to rotation as much as, say, the wings or the centre midfield. If Mitrovic was a powerful attacking midfielder he may have been getting more of a shot. As it is, he's a big centre forward that feeds off crosses and long balls. Two routes that we're not currently using, probably because most Championship clubs have big centre halves that can gobble them up all day every day.

I'm not bothered about Rafa picking Gayle ahead of him, it makes sense, and Rafa knows a fuck load more than me about football. I'm bothered about fans writing off a 22yr old in only his second season in the country. Especially when he's scoring and creating assists when he does get his opportunity and especially when there are other headcases in the side whose on field idiocy passes without comment because they're in form. Shelvey is a fucking liability (not talking about the current charge), but because he's arguably the best centre midfielder in the league, nobody calls him on it.

When we equalised against Norwich, the first thing he did was to run past the norwich player calling for offside and celebrate in his face, a la Keown & Nistelrooy. In untangling himself from Lansbury in the way he did, he made the referee (or his assistant) make a decision. He's left the boot in plenty of times and already has 4 yellows.

I thought he'd take the league by storm this year. Disappointing that he hasn't had more chances as he looks like he has the potential to be a handful but Rafa clearly doesn't fancy him, which is good enough for me. He'll have to bide his time and wait for an opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised if he moves on the summer if his season ends as it's begun. Would seem daft to sell him January though

I like the lad and think he is potentially a good player, I really don't think Rafa likes him in the system he prefers mind and I think we will see him moved on in the near future (provided Rafa stays).

Delph linked? I'd take him in a heartbeat

Aye, I think he's a decent enough PL player, was never going to make it at Man City and was clearly bought to help tick the English player quota.

Between him, Shelvey, and Hayden we'd have great options if Rafa kept it as a CM pairing as well as having the option of playing the three together. Is it a loan rumoured or a buy? I doubt Man City would be asking for much seeing as they only paid 8m for him so surely it'd be in the 4-6m range which would be a brilliant buy.

Yeah but we won't be the only ones thinking that. Every club from 12th down in the PL will be after him too.

I'd personally rather 6 months getting back to match fitness in a lower league under a manager like Rafa than playing for Tony Pulis in the PL.

I know I'm biased but if he's that short sighted that he can't hack 6 months in a lower league and would rather the status of playing in the PL for an extra 6 month he's daft.

Possibly but will he want to go from where he is to the championship?

If we were 2nd or 3rd he's not be interested, but surely he'd  be keen on (as others say) the opportunity to play under Rafa, for a big club, with a big fanbase etc. etc.

It's not like he's swapping 1st team football in the top flight to join a midtable side in the 2nd tier looking to use him to get back into the chase for promotion. He'd be swapping reserve football with Man City, for first team football for the presumptive Champions. 6 months would be worth it, surely?
