Wilshere has some ability about him so is one of the few English players who could actually go abroad whereas most foreign teams don't bother with British players as their technique is crap and their attitude to learning new languages and culture would be a problem as they're too thick and lazy to think about anything else other than money.

He says as we try to get someone to bid Moussa Sissokos asking price.

Or maybe because he has a young family and would it be worth either shifting them abroad for 1 year or living alone?

But nah maybe it's because he is thick..

That doesn't stop hundreds of european and south american players but is always the excuse for english ones.

Because they can come here for 1 year and retire on the wages?

The main reason foreign players come to England on loan is to hopefully get a full time move no? In which case it would make sense to move your young family?

I very much doubt that Wiltshere will be playing permanantly wherever he goes on loan so for 1 year he may as well stay at home?

He's going to be at home for 90% of the season so makes sense he'd stay in London.

:D

Aye, arguing about where he plays seems a bit pointless. Playing in Italy would do his game the world of good I reckon. Roma linked now.

You're on about moving to England, I'm not, players move between Spain, Italy, Portugal (particulalry south americans) France etc all the time.

Yet we never seem to export any talent and when the chance comes up they end up picking Bournemouth rather than Roma (the latest club in the mix).

A lot of people work abroad for short terms, Wilshere could afford to move and support his entire family if he felt like it, or they could stay at home, again, like many players familes do. They wouldn't exactly be left struggling while he was away would they?

I think this all comes back to British players being thick and lazy, refusing to go abroad where they will have to learn things.

He's one of the few players who could go abroad and improve his game as he has some ability. Very few British players have that chance as the vast majority aren't good enough but it's the typical English footballer mentality to keep it safe and comfortable. In 15 years time he'll look back and think Wtf did I go to Bournemouth or Palace over Roma for?

It's all down to the money.  If Gamez could get more playing for us in the championship than he could get in Spain playing for anyone except Barcelona and the Madrid teams, it makes sense for him to move here.  But if our players can get more playing for Burnley or Palace than they could playing for Benfica or Milan then there's not the incentive for them to move.  Most people in any walk of life only move abroad for work to get more money.

Foreign players flood the english league because they are cheaper than English players.  Why would average English players getting an English player premium that rewards their medicority look elsewhere?

Seems only logical that it would be the exceptions who choose to work abroad rather than doing their travelling for European games and in their 3 month holiday.

I suppose if it's a loan deal, there's a fair chance a player will still get the same wage anyway so then they could go abroad.  I imagine that's how Joe Cole ended up playing for Lille.  The only other players that go abroad are either real top class players like Beckham. Owen and Woodgate who can go to teams like Real, or ones that are prepared to go to shit leagues that play well like Saylor.

Aye that's how I see it as well, if I was him I'd go to Roma as Arsenal will (most definitely) cover the wages Roma don't want to pay. It's his choice mind and I don't really know (or care) about his personal life, he'll barely play anyway, in fact he should try and see if AC Milan are interested and go there if he can that way Milan lab might be able to sort him out.

I watched a video recently when he said Beckham was his role model because he has nice tattoos, and he hopes to have more tattoos in the future to be like Beckham

He's not going to be applying to MENSA anytime soon

Aye 4.5m they reckon, I'd have accepted that. I get that we need cover but surely with Lazaar, Haidara, Clark, and in a real bind Colback all able to play LB we should have just cashed in.

4.5m isn't going to do much for us. Worth having the cover - Dummett's not a bad utility defender. I'd prefer to see him over Clark for example.

Also, yes on Riviere. Thank fook for that. I know there're a lot of candidates lately, but he's got to be the wort signing we've ever made.

My heart just drops whenever I see Dummett's name on the teamsheet.

Thought he was alright against Brighton, precisely because he stuck to what he's half decent at which is trying to stop crosses and playing it 5 yards to Shelvey. This Lazaar, if he has owt about him whatsoever, should waltz straight into the team though.
