Alex 34765
So looking through the Notts Forest fans views on Lascelles it seems we've signed Williamsons much younger shitter brothernto warm the bench for the next 5 years Or they might be bitter

Ayatollah Hermione 13766
Newcastle? Portsmouth. Or someone like that. I changed his name to "Pissflaps", closed the game and threw my laptop off a bridge.
The Fish 10681
Portsmouth. Or someone like that. I changed his name to "Pissflaps", closed the game and threw my laptop off a bridge. I remember spunking the majority of my £40m budget on Nicolas Otamendi and him failing to perform and having a shocking disciplinary record. Gave him more than his fair share of playing time, tried coddling him, bollocking him, everything. Nothing worked for 2 seasons to I sold him at a big old loss, changed his name to "Some cunt" just so that I could enjoy the news reports of "Some cunt gets sent off in Champions League Quarter Final" or "Some cunt breaks his leg". Petty but satisfying.

Too much utter dogshit in the league for us to be really troubled. Promoted 3 are uninspiring, Villa & sunderland haven't bought well and barely survived last year, Leicester have gambled on Ranieri. We've addressed our key weakness.

Whilst the actually spending some decent money is encouraging, our biggest signing is for the one position that we probably didn't need. He's talking about being a number 10 and we already have De Jong/Sissoko and Perez competing for it. Then we've signed two alleged 20 year olds. I'm worried that the MBemba deal has flop written all over it because how many 20 year olds are top CBs? After the flops of last seasons foreign imports we needed to buy proven Premier League experience and we've bought 3 with none. I don't think we'll battle relegation but we'll be bottom half unless we do a lot more

TheGingerQuiff 2412
Cabaye for a start. Why do they have to have already moved though? Enrique is out of favour and superior to our LB options toi
David Kelly 1219
I partially agree with the Quiff there but it would have been difficult to get someone with premier league experience withough shelling out £8m on James Chester or going for Caulker both from relegated teams with defences as bad or worse than our own. Mbemba may be young (certainly doesn't look 21 to me but I don't think he looks much older for all that) but he's been the main man in Anderlecht's defence for the last couple of seasons and the praise he's been getting is pretty much unanimous. Certainly their fans seem to love him. This isn't the sort of young player like Bramble signed on potential. Or at least it doesn't seem to be. We still need another centreback for me especially if Colo is leaving (which seems more likely by the day). And I don't buy the we've got lots of centrebacks even if they're no good argument. If an asset is not capable of doing the job it was bought for, you have to replace it. Regardless of whether you can sell the original assets or not. This is true in any business. Andrew 4713
Lets sign a 29 year old left back who has started less than 10 games in the last 2 years.Thats not proven premier league quality anymore.
David Kelly 1219
Getting rid of those clowns doesn't seem to have turned Williamson into a world beater so far and it won't stop Taylor from being made of glass and it doesn't seem to be increasing Colo's desire to be playing here either. I've no doubt it will help but you can't polish a turd!
PaddockLad 17053
It's all very well saying "we should be signing x,y and z" but it does smack a bit of forgetting who owns the club....whatever happens, not everything that needs addressing will be. So stop fretting Quiff, it's a pointless excercise.
Anorthernsoul 1221
From what I've seen so far the Dutch kid looks like a great buy. There's definitely plenty of goals and creativity in him.

I've no doubt it will help but you can't polish a turd! And Mike Ashley's Newcastle won't build Rome in a day. There's still time to get new blood in, and if Colo and Willo do leave, I'm confident there will be bodies brought in. I'm not sure that if both leave, both will be replaced, but I am confident that we won't go into the season with Mbemba & Taylor as our only recognised centre backs (Dummet can do a job, but is still though of as a LB, no?) That's all fair enough and I never expected anything better than what we've had so far (in fact I expected less) but to say we've addressed our key weaknesses isn't correct when it looks like there's a fair chance Williamson will at least be on the bench come the Southampton game, we have no proper cover for Janmaat and our leftback is much weaker than our rightback. If we had addressed all of our weaknesses this would not be the case. Of course there is still time to fix this before the window is shut. I neither expect this to happen (at least not all of it) nor will I go mental if it doesn't.
