... Right, so it has fuck all to do with his agent saying " Chill out Chaz, you're on your honeymoon, we'll sort this when you're back"

Which is what CT said.

And is bollocks.

Weeeelllllll ........Has he signed for anyone since Saturday?

You're not wrong Fish mate, just used the wrong player. Have a lie down, you'll feel much better about yourself even after CT owning you this evening :)

See its this transfer kitty/war chest thing that I don't buy. If we got £35m for Cisse, it's not getting released for Charnley, Carr, McClaren and Moncur to go on a spree. They'll have targets for this window, and valuations for those targets. We'd not go off and buy more than what we have targeted beyond replacing the outgoing player (if we even do that) and we'd not pick up the pursuit of a player whose club wouldn't sell at our valuation.

We've enough cash that if we sell no one we'll still buy some new blood, so they can reject daft bids for Cisse or Tiote and if the money is right, when we sell those two we're only going to get the players who were already on the radar.

I'm not saying that getting a load of extra cash we weren't expecting will mean our budget will increase by the same amount. I'm saying our budget will be based upon what we have already and what we expect to get in on top of that from sales we are trying to do. I believe Cisse is a sale we're trying to push through so whatever money we are expecting to get from him will form part of the budget we've already set. If we get less than what we expect there's less to go into that budget. We'd then have to either supplement what's left from somewhere else or we'll spend less.

 in what way has CT owned me? He stated the reason nobody has signed Austin is because his agent is letting him enjoy his Honeymoon. Which is unmitigated horse shit.

Austin would have joined Ings at the Early Transfer Tavern if the right bid had been made, whether he was on his honeymoon or not.

Your theory is based on expecting us to accept a lower price than our valuation of Cisse.

I don't expect us to accept a lower price than their valuation of anyone.

Had a great season, away with England, then stag do, then wedding and now Honeymoon.

Regardless of what we offer, his agent will have said fuck off and have a cracking time Chaz and we'll see what irons are in the fire when you get back.

You'd better tell whoever posted this on behalf then, makes you look a right flip flopping billy bullshitter

In which case we done sell and therefore don't get any money in and the budget is again smaller. Either way selling a play impacts on buying others.

I don't believe that the money we get for players will be factored into the targets we have or the amount were willing to pay for them.

Who did we buy after Carroll? After Cabaye? Debuchy? Did the fees we received change our targets? Apparently not as we didn't exactly break the bank with our fat war chest.

I cannot see Austin being in a hurry to sign for us.Only lower league players and your `Gouffran's' from Europe will be keen to sign on the dotted line to play for us ,and with our shower of shite players. The sooner we get rid of the dross the sooner players might think we are the club for them.

I personally wouldn't have Austin. I'd rather stick with Cisse if its one in, one out.

Really? Austin's got more to his all-round game than Cisse does.

Of and he fulfills a "Home grown" spot for when we get into Europe...

;)

Are there even any rumours now apart from this old Austin crap?

The state of the squad man, and we're nearly into July. And still looking to offloads the likes of Cisse and Sammy

Not that I think Sammy should be anywhere near the first team, but the squad, the squad ffs!

He isnt at all. He completely struggled when played up front by himself and didnt really play well unless off Zamora. He isnt very mobile at all. Good finisher though.

:dunno: I disagree, but that's what football is about I suppose.

fwiw I think we'll aim to play de Jong just off the main striker, when he's fit.

Hasn't Sammy just signed another contract ?

Well lets sign both Austin and Zamora.

He's been offered a new contract, but I've seen nothing to suggest he's signed it.

Didn't I read somewhere that the offer means any contract offers from other clubs must include compensation for him?

Also, he's shit.

Amazing how this thread has remained so active given the complete absence of transfer activity.

Indication of our appetite for information, or just our boredom?

“I read of lump sum payments of 10 to 12 million euros for Bas (Dost) but then I refer to the example of Roberto Firmino and say they (Newcastle and other clubs) will have to get used to other amounts if they really want to buy Dost.”

“We have spoken with his (Bas Dost’s) agent and it has turned out that Bas does not want to leave, quite the contrary. He feels very good in Wolfsburg.”
